CRB: Joshua's been in the kitchen making spaghetti all day (there's meatless sauce as well as meatful), so there's plenty of that if you want something to eat. (It's damn good spaghetti.) Bread (garlic, just buttered, plain) and salads also available.
CRB: Because his brain's fried and I suck at mixing things, the special is: Half off anything that comes in a bottle.
CRB: Secondary specials: Half off if you suggest a name for his ferret. (He's already ruled out Rheticus, before you smartasses who know him offer that one. This smartass already covered it.)
CRB: And: One drink free if you put in your order on T-Minus (me or repositoryProtector, or I guess you can reply here).
CRB: Specials are stacking (so: if you get a bottled drink on here and suggest a ferret name, you get two drinks). And Joshua's insisting on not charging for the spaghetti.
CRB: COME AT US, BROS

The specials are also written on the board, for the bar's low-tech patrons, and those who may not happen to see the memo go up.

Dr. Lecter approaches the bar, and nods to Joshua.

"It's nice to see you again," he says. "How are the particle physics?"

"You as well." Joshua smiles, wiping some stray sauce off of his hands. "Well, I'm sure they're fine. I got my doctorate a few months ago, and ended up switching jobs. Much less bored, actually." Being a data monkey is never good to Joshua.

"That is good to hear," Dr. Lecter says. "Congratulations, Dr. Donovan! What are you working on now?"

[damncompass]

Joshua makes a bit of a face. He's still not used to the title. Probably never will be. "I'm studying Artifacts. They're... well, they're objects that have acquired strange properties. No one actually knows what causes them or how they do what they do. I'm trying to figure them out." He grins. It's actually pretty damn awesome, if you ask him.

"Like the one that bought all the toys alive?" Dr. Lecter asks.

[damncompass]

"Sort of? As far as I know not having seen it, the toys weren't Artifacts. I think Helena said that she shot one or more of them, and she knows Artifacts pretty well. It's that sort of thing, however. I don't know how long you've been around, but a while back, everyone had theme music following them around. That was caused by an Artifact. They can do just about anything."

Confusing as hell, when you get down to it.

"Helena is quite formidable," Dr. Lecter says. "I was there when that happened, but the music was before my time. I would certainly have noticed."

[damncompass]

"Well, that was fun." Joshua is grinning and leaning against a pole behind the bar. "Great idea with the T-minus, too." He grabs himself a bottle of soda, then makes a face. "Chocolate Fudge? Really, bar?" Oh, Jones soda.

[claudiometer]

"Aaaaaand that would be why you look before you grab something. At least you know it's not the quantum stuff."
Claudia shrugs. "Did it before, once, but that was a while ago. Figured it'd be fun to do again."

[damncompass]

"I mean, I don't mind chocolate fudge soda, but it's just..." He flails, but takes another drink. "I feel like I should try it, but it just feels like so much work to have a damn drink."

[claudiometer]

"Then don't think about how it tastes."
Not that hard. But Claudia can understand why it's in the Warehouse.

[damncompass]

"You do realize, Claudia, that the moment you tell me not to do something, I'm going to do it, right?" That's the way Joshua rolls.

[claudiometer]

"Fine. Think about how it tastes, then. Not my fault when you go on a wild goose chase for it afterward."
She's just sayin'.

It's not that Nadine is low-tech, it's that she's never heard of T-Minus in her life. So cue one tired looking redhead arching her eyebrows at the board.

"I'll have a tea, thanks. Decaf."

[claudiometer]

"Not a problem. You have any flavor preference?"
She'll leave the actual brewing of the tea up to Joshua; otherwise lady's gonna have some hot brown water on her hands. But she can at least get the stuff for it.

[damncompass]

"Anything to eat?" Joshua grabs a teapot and fills it with hot water in preparation. "Spaghetti's on me tonight, if you're interested."

As a matter of note, there is actually spaghetti sauce on his shirt and pants. Oops.

"I'm at a bar at the end of the universe, let's...go with something that could be interesting."

And if it doesn't work, she'll get another.

"...and dinner sounds wonderful, actually," she admits with a small smile. "Um, I should ask, what's the...T-Minus you two mentioned?"

[claudiometer]

"Got it." A little rooting around the cabinet produces something that bills itself as 'purple tea'; Claudia has no idea how that's supposed to work, but it does say it's decaf, so she rolls with it.
"They're communication things." Claudia digs hers out of her tool belt and hands it over for inspection. "Pandimensional IM client, basically - someone here set up the system. Bar gives 'em out when she's awake. Until I got a chance to beef up the cell signal at home it actually got better service than my phone."

[damncompass]

Joshua eyes it, but shrugs and starts steeping it. The colour is a bright, but comforting purple. "Huh. Interesting." Leaving the tea for a moment, he goes to a warming pad near the back of the bar, and starts spooning up some spaghetti as well as salad and bread. "Meat or meatless sauce? Also, do you like your bread with garlic or without?"

He's all business at the moment.

Charles keeps meaning to try T-Minus but hasn't yet so reads the specials on the board,

"Could I get a Scotch and a good ferret name might be Frank, its a good name and could suit a ferret?"

[claudiometer]

"...I'm not sure 'Frank' has the same connotations for us it does for you, Charles."
He needed that mental image of Tim Curry in drag, right?

Joshua makes a series of faces. "Er, no. It's way too snuggly for that." He starts getting Charles' drink. "That's the problem. It's just too snuggly for just about any of the suggestions I've thought of."

Charles' eyebrows go up at that image, "Well, yes, I can see that. Paddington?"

[claudiometer]

Sorry, Charles. It's just... yeah.
"Possible. I defer to the ferret-haver on that one."

[damncompass]

"Hm. Possible. That just makes me think of teddy bears wearing Wellingtons, though." Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but still.

He hands Charles his drink with a smile. "Haven't seen you in a while. How've you been?"
