Happy Hour

Sameth is rubbing his eyes as he enters because he's not certain when he last slept. Last night he worked for a while and then today was full of court matters that he had to attend which is why he's in his surcoat and sword. He's not neat anymore because it was a long day but matters coming into place for the Southerlings and he only had to address everyone twice.

The hope of some sleep and then maybe some work on a few ideas he has would have been nice but he can do that later. As he orders a wine, a napkin appears and he sighs and nods before getting out the cocktail book.

"Mostly on Enzo's world but I've been to a few other words, exploring." She answers looking to see the specials. Chewing a lip, she speculates, "I grew up as an heir to a country but I haven't been in my home reality in forever, so I don't think I'm very political. Guess I pay full price."

"You don't have to. What do you want?"

"Hmmm, do you have a white wine with floral accents back there? I'm terrible with wine names despite my Dad's best efforts. Something sweet but not too sweet."

"I'll try. I don't know a lot about white wines, we drink spiced wine at home,"

There are a lot of wines but he goes looking and finding something that looks like it might work. The name looks like something that might be from Val's world.

[time_dancer]

"Maybe I'll try some of your spiced wine later but right now I just want refreshing. How's the forge been?" she asks as her eyes wander into memories of working, well mostly cleaning the building out back.

"Here, it seems to be doing well. I have my workshop at home so I'm not here that much."

He pours her a glass of one that seems right, it says Riesling on the bottle.

Val takes the glass and tries a sip. Nice and crisp.

"Perfect! Why are you looking for political folks?"

[makesthings]

"Because I spent most of today in court. I know I did some good but it made me tired and so I thought getting drinks for other people who deal with it would be nice."

[time_dancer]

"Ah," Val says taking a sip of wine. "So, since you mention political experience, I assume you mean a political body and not a judicial one?"

[makesthings]

"It can be both but today it was politics."

[time_dancer]

"Actual, functional politics or let's make ourselves look good politics?" She asks with a wry grin. She's sat in many of both types of meetings as well as many others.

"We're trying to do functional politics but those trying to make themselves look good always seem to appear."
