In one corner of the bar, there is pizza and discussion between Guppy and his eldest.
"You were more than capable of passing your phonics test." Guppy is saying to Fry, as they go through his homework. "Why wouldn't you do it?"
"Because it was stupid!" Fry protests. "It had made up words like 'moop' and 'spog'."
"That's the point." Guppy says. "It's to see if you can read new words."
A waitrat brings a note from the bar, which Fry intercepts.
"'To the Doctor Guppy Sandhu please for...give the neck-ess-er-ty of this corry pond dance...'"
"Er, that's mine thank you..." Guppy says, removing the letter.
He reads the letter and blinks slightly.
"Huh, bloke lives in Transylvania, no wonder he was spooky." He looks back at his son. "You still have to do the test."

[oom: 19 Days until the World's End]
Gary didn't mean to find this place again, but it's a welcome sight. He hasn't exactly got the money to spare and needs to stretch out what he has until he drags himself back to the dole queue, or the next part-time job comes along. So a place that doesn't demand cash up front, but will let him drink all he wants anyway? Yes, definitely a welcome sight.
So he drags himself up to the bar and orders a pint, hoping to maybe find some answers at the bottom of it. He doesn't, of course, but maybe the answers will be in the bottom of the next one. Or maybe the one after that.
Botherable.

Gary has discovered the televisions here in the bar. He's flipping through the channels in complete and utter perplexion. Slug soap opera on one channel. A debate between lizards on the next. What appears to be a documentary on the mating habits of vaporous beings. An infomercial for something that apparently replaces all a person's skin...
If this is what television licenses pay for in the future, he doesn't want it. And yet, he can't look away.
Tim, meanwhile, has discovered a notice posted by the back door, and can't quite tell if it's a joke, or something he should be taking very, very seriously. He has the back door cracked open just enough to peer outside, but he can't see anything in the darkness.
Or maybe... Maybe he can. There might be something moving out there. There is something out there, and whatever it is, it's spotted him! It comes tearing through the darkness at him, barrels through the door, and knocks him to the ground.
And that's the moment when Tim reins in his imagination, jolting as if he were just punched really hard in the face. Nothing came through the door. There's not even anything out there (that he can see). But he shuts the door just in case.
[ooc: warning for language in the thread with Teja.

Gary doesn't so much stumble into the bar today, as much as walks in with a sense of purpose. That purpose is quite simple: take advantage of his tab here until someone finally catches wise and kicks his ass for not paying. When he orders his first drink, he gets a napkin instead. It seems someone's already onto him, but the solution is perhaps not the best one. Well, Gary thinks it's brilliant, but Gary doesn't count.
BEER
Gary King is bartending tonight. The odds of free or cheap drinks for everyone have just gone up exponentially.

The Window here in Milliways has been showing the end of the multiverse for long time, and for most who have been here for more than a few weeks, it become background decor, just another quirk of this place like the fish in the fireplace, or the yellow bra mounted above the bar.
Tonight, though, is special. The last few, brilliant flashes of the current universe in the window, ends, and rather than cycling over to a new one, a pair of heavy red curtains fall over the window with an audible thump.
For a long few minutes, nothing happens, then, they open again, a multicoloured spirograph spinning there idly for a few moments. The song currently playing on the speakers changes abruptly and...

The last image stays there for a long while, flames burning and cackling and tattered curtains moving in an unseen breeze before the scene changes once again.

When the last few, reverberating strains fade, so does the image on screen, and everything continues per the norm.
[ooc: Thank you for viewing this mod-approved window-jacking of an OOM, please click the two images to complete the full experience. The thread is open to all for reactions, though I feel it fair to warn you that high traffic on the website may cause the page not to load. Thanks.]

Sameth is rubbing his eyes as he enters because he's not certain when he last slept. Last night he worked for a while and then today was full of court matters that he had to attend which is why he's in his surcoat and sword. He's not neat anymore because it was a long day but matters coming into place for the Southerlings and he only had to address everyone twice.
The hope of some sleep and then maybe some work on a few ideas he has would have been nice but he can do that later. As he orders a wine, a napkin appears and he sighs and nods before getting out the cocktail book.
Specials
Spiced Wine
Stone Fence
Border Crossing
If you're involved in politics in any way, your drink is half off.
(OOC: At 1:30 am, I'm off to bed and will be tagging slowtimes tomorrow. This is open until the next Happy Hour goes up.)

[Out of Milliways:
After Ellen and Ambriel defeated Professor Calvert the evil two-hundred-year-old disembodied psyker brain, there was still work to be done. Ellen secured Voodoo's help to:
Recover the evil, sinister lorebook known as the Krivbeknih;
Explain to Obadiah Blackhall that the Krivbeknih was not even close to being what it seemed; and
Return Ellen, Star Paladin Cross, Paladins Whydah and Morgan, and a bunch of tech recovered from the Professor's labs to the Brotherhood of Steel.
Voodoo then went back. Ellen had some more things to deal with first.]
Things at home are in order. Ellen's feeling better- a little, anyway. Ideally, this would be time to go and sleep in the barracks until she gets her morning orders. Apparently, that's not going to happen.
Well, she could use a drink. Ellen heads up to the Bar, adjusting her dark green uniform a little, and secures herself a Sam Adams. One of the nice things about Milliways is that you can find a place to sit and be sure that you're surrounded by secure walls and a nice solid ceiling, and none of the sickness that breeds in swamps is going to find you. And if it does, there's probably someone around who can kick it in the teeth before it gets very far.
... she's had a rough time of it, what can we say.
[OOC: I got tired of trying to work out how to include a mention of changes to her appearance; for a better idea of what she looks like at the moment, please consult this post. I'll be linking to it in future as needed. Thanks!]

Have you ever got so drunk that when you woke up the next morning you were still a bit buzzed?
Milliways, meet Gary King. It's barely eleven o'clock in the morning, and he woke up from where he'd passed out on the sofa and wandered into the kitchen to fetch a beer.
This is not the kitchen, but Gary has barely even noticed. It wouldn't be the first time he sleep-walked somewhere daft. It is the first time he's ever stumbled through the door to this particular pan-dimensional watering hole, though.
At least he's mostly dressed. All the important bits and mildly-embarrassing tattoos are covered, at any rate.

So it is a few days short of the earthling holiday of Christmas right? Well someone has informed GIR exactly what the holiday entails and, much to Zim's threats, he has set about decorating the whole entire house with thousands upon thousands of Christmas lights.
Needless to say you have to wear some pretty powerful sunglasses to even look about the inside of the house.
Noone informed him the lights were supposed to go outside.
When the door opens into Milliways from the fridge again a blinding flash if light fills the space before the little dog-costumed robot hops into the room with the sound of bells coming from the collar he wears. He also wears those little felty sort of reindeer antlers you can find at the dollar store.
"Ohhh its the place with the thingies and the other thingies!" Bounding forward GIR tips the door closed behind him sparing the blinding light upon the patrons again.

You know what happens when you take a mind oriented to creating new things, transition it to a mindset of taking things apart, and then give it the task of developing viable new life forms for the beautiful world you have planned?
You have a mind that muses for a time on other structures for the gill and then wonders, I wonder if I can create a life form that reproduces by exploding.
Having sadly ruled out the larger members of the animal kingdom for this, he's now outside mixing small amounts of chemicals and seeing how much heat they throw off. He's looking for something that's nearly heatless; it would be rather embarassing if you kept burning down rainforests because your beetles kept detonating in the leaves.
This is Wesker being good, come on.
((OOC: Warning if this bothers you: this EP now contains fictitious violence to demon bunnies. *facepalm*))

"Wheeeee hooooooooooooo! Wheeee hoooohoooohooooooooooooooooooo!" screams a little robot as it literally tumbles through the back door of Milliways.
A little green alien soon follows after it as she rolls and lands crouched defensively on her feet. A small, foreign gun-type-thingy in her hands. "Earth rabbits..." she growls under her breath, only a second later darting through past legs of taller people as she starts her search. "I know I saw it come in here!"
"I like mashed potatoes!" screams the robot again as it literally attaches itself to the back of the alien's head.
"MIMI! I SAID CUT IT OUT!" Tak shouts over her companion.

Nevermind the small green alien perfectly normal human child in the corner.
Also, nevermind that GIANT MONSTROSITY he's building. It's a.... school project! REALLY!
He's humming merrily as he builds, occasionally taking the time to stuff his little green face full of snax, and slurp it all down with cola.
The maniacal cackling? Yeah, that was just a trick of the acoustics in the bar, nothing out of the ordinary. Promise.

Sometimes Milliways seems to attract very, very, VERY odd creatures.
This time is no exception.
When the front door opens it is into a strangly decorated and brightly colored living room/kitchen/notanentrancetoasecretlab. Standing there with its arm reached up is a little green dog with eyes that rarely seem to want to focus on one thing at a time. One odd thing to note is the very large zipper that seems to from the length of its body..not to mention the stitch marks down his head.
Its little pink tongue hangs out the side of its mouth a good long minute before he asks in an overly chipper and computerized-ishness voice.
"Where's meh tacos?"
Bar, meet GIR.

Pre-Milliways
The door opens, with a slam. No one coming through, yet. Somehow, with the optional physics that Milliways has, looking out it is like looking up. A very long way up.
Dimly is the figure of a large man seen. With something in his hand. And then the something is falling.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
She hits the ground, in the bar. Physics apparently changes enough that she ends up on the floor near the door, scrambling to her knees just as it slams shut. She pounds on it, gloved left hand and un-gloved right hand, screaming.
"NO! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING! DADDY, DON'T LET THEM! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!"
Her hair is over the left side of her face, glimpses of the right show a teenage girl who could be, somehow, related to Svava. Blue eyes, blond hair. Taller than the Valkyrie, yes, but looking like she's got more growing to do.
Her fists pound the door unceasingly, and she continues to scream for her father.
