Gavroche emerges from Javert's corner, carrying a plate stacked high with fresh toast in one hand, and a smaller plate in the other bearing several pats of butter.
He's... not actually sure what he's going to do with it all. He's not that hungry. He makes for a table, sits and begins to eat, keeping an eye out for friends.
Anyone for toast?

He glances over and smiles at her.
"See, I told you you'd find a way."

"...Trixie was drunk. And a foal."
no subject
"Yes, you were", he agrees calmly. "But Trixie was also very upset. I hope you didn't have too much of a hangover."

Trixie is silent for a moment more, magically levitating her glass of water to her lips and taking a sip. "...I... I drank something which helped sober me up. ...Trixie demands to know just who exactly gave her this cake." Yes, she's attempting to change the subject.

Gavroche chuckles and lets her.
"I don't know, I'm sorry. Somebody obviously wanted to give you something for fixing things."

"It's not charity", he says firmly. "Charity is somebody giving you something because they think you need it. This is a present somebody gave you because they think you deserve it."

"You're forgiven." That's sincere and unhesitating. "It was an accident, and you found a way to put it right. Even if you'd only tried to put it right, it would have meant a lot."

Gavroche laughs and nudges the plate closer to her.
"Have some, if you want. There's an acquaintance from my world, somebody's introduced him to toasters. We don't have them there, you have to use a spike and an open fire, and he seems to like the idea."

"It's good?" He grins. "What do you usually eat?"

"Of course. So toasted wheat products are just fine for you. Sweets, probably not too often, though?"

"Which is all the more reason to eat this one", he says easily. "It's a treat for you."

"All right, toast it is. I'll trade you for the cake if you don't want it."

She magically levitates the toast on over to the toast human.

"No, I meant my toast..." He doesn't take any of hers. "Sorry, that was confusing."

"Probably. I'm still not perfect in English, I've been trying to practice."
And sometimes he lapses back into French, which gets translated.
