There is a hungry vampire in the Bar tonight.

Very hungry.

He is lounging in a corner with excellent view of the room.

He doesn't want to overplay his hand.

Then again, the timing might be right.

"I am a vampire." Looking at her, honestly.

Blink.

"What like... a real one?"

She looks more surprised than frightened.

He nods.

"A real one."

Waiting for her reaction.

"Uh huh."

Shrug.

"I guess you've just shown me you drink your blood from the bar, and I'm not a virgin, so I'm probably safe."

He chuckles.

"Virgins don't really hold my interest," he says. His teeth look strong and normal.

"Well let's make it simple. Do you bite people what don't want you to?"

He shakes his head. "Not here. I follow the rules. And I do not cheat. I do not make them want to be bitten. It's all their own desire."

"Well then drink yer A positive wine and quit worrying." Bonnie says.

He smiles and takes a sip.
"I'll try, "he says.

"What is you do apart from being a vampire?"

"I travel a lot," he says. "I've always liked that. Before I became a vampire too. Of course back then it was by boat or on horseback."

"Where have you travelled?"

"Everywhere," he says with a grin. "Eastern Europe, the British Isles, America."
The latter, the latest.

"It sounds wonderful. I never been across the sea."

"It is beautiful. Huge and powerful."
He smiles.

"I've stuck my feet in it a fair few times." Bonnie grins.

"If you get the chance, go sailing. It's the best way to travel."

"I'm fixing up a boat at home." Bonnie says. "Not that it would go further than a pond."

He shrugs.

"You don't need a big boat if you stay close to the coast. "

"The sea can kill you quickly." Bonnie says.

"Isn't that true of all things worth exploring?" he asks with a smile.

"Sure, but I got a bunch of people who depend on me if I die." Bonnie says.

"You have a large family?" he asks.

"I helped foster and adopt a bunch of teenage boys before I became a teacher." Bonnie says. "They're all growed up now, but my youngest, Earnest, has what they call in the future 'learning disability', so I still got to keep an eye out for him."

"Some responsibilities are like that," Eric agrees.
