It has, apparently, been One Of Those Days across the multiverse. In its aftermath, we find several people in Milliways trying to unwind.

Alyx Vance is seated in a corner booth with a beer in one hand and a screwdriver in the other, taking apart a graphing calculator.

Twilight Sparkle is seated on the floor by the fireplace with a plate of cookies and a light historical novel.

And Vanellope von Schweetz has faceplanted on the couch and is snoring lightly.

They are all botherable, if you dare.

Ibani blinks at the sight of a purple, pony shaped being sitting by the fireplace. Her own universe has quite the range of sapient species, but Twilight Sparkle still stands out a bit.

"Hello," she says with a smile. "Do you mind if I sit over there?" she asks, gesturing toward another chair near the fireplace.

"Hm?" Twilight looks up, blinking in surprise. "No, go right ahead."

"Thank you," she replies, taking a seat. Ibani has reading material too, but it's on a datapad rather than being a printed book. Lines of characters scroll across the screen and images rotate.

Ibani peers at the book Twilight is holding. "Printed books don't get used much where I'm from. Are they common in your world."

"Very. I live and work in a library full of them," replies Twilight. "Are things like that... what is that thing, anyway?"

"This is a datapad," Ibani explains, tilting the device so that Twilight has a better view.

"Among other things, it can store and display texts and images." Ibani runs one finger down the screen and the images change, showing what looks very much like an illustrated page in a printed text.

Twilight's eyes light up as she leans closer for a better view. "Ohmygosh--how does it work??"

"It's...wait, does your world have computers?" Not a question Ibani would have thought to ask before Milliways.

"No, but I've heard of them..."

Ellen is never going to get over how small the electronics are in Alyx's world. Dogmeat doesn't care; he's just running over to sniff hopefully at Alyx's leg. Just because her hands are busy doesn't mean the human doesn't have food in a pocket.

The dog muzzle pressed up against her pant leg makes Alyx look up. "Hey there, buddy," she says, giving Dogmeat an affectionate scratch behind the ears.

"Hi, Alyx," calls Ellen as she makes her way over. "I hope he hasn't messed up anything?"

[vance_prime]

"Nah. I was just kind of tinkering for tinkering's sake, anyway." Alyx sets her tools aside and gestures toward the seat opposite hers, inviting Ellen to sit if she wants.

Ellen nods and makes her way over. "Good," she says. "He's been better about behaving himself around people, but he still tries to get away with things sometimes. How have you been?"

Alyx lets out a long, slow breath. "Busy," she replies. "Shephard brought back a bunch of seed stock from the Borealis that we've been working on planting, and we're trying to work out a way to reintroduce livestock... and the twins have been acting like little shits on top of all that. How about you?"

[aaaaaaaagh_sky]

"Pretty good. I've had a couple of other things happen, but in all fairness I should probably start with the big one and tell you I got married."

Strong Bad's taking a break from the frantic pace of freelancing, side projects, and consulting* to get some ones up in. On his way to a booth, he notices Vanellope on the couch and gets a grin. He sets the tray with his one and cake down on a nearby table and says, "Watch those for me, The Cheat."

"You got it!"

"And just watch, okay? Look with your eyes, not with your mouth!"

"Yeah yeah yeah."

With that taken care of, Strong Bad tippy-toes over to Vanellope and whispers in her ear, ".inorafeeB eeD-ra-yoB fehC tae dna pu ekaw ,dlihc liveD" (How does he do it? No volume!)

"mrngh..." Vanellope stirs in her sleep and bats feebly at Strong Bad's wrestle-man face.

Strong Bad oifs lightly as Vanellope's hand brushes his face, then whispers a little more. "Rhino Feeder... Secret Collect..."

She bats harder. "Go awayyyy, Bill, 'm sleeping..."

Hopefully, Twilight wasn't looking forward to a peaceful evening.

Look who's coming out of the kitchen and is making a beeline toward her.

"TWILIGHT! I SAW RARITY!"

Twilight's head shoots up. "Mmmf??" she mumbles around a mouthful of cookies.

"I SAW RARITY!" Pinkie enthuses loudly, settling down to chomp on one of the goodies she herself has dragged from the kitchens. "That means almost everypony can come here!"

[no_vampires_plz]

"Mmrs shm--" Twilight swallows her cookies and tries again. "Is she here now?"

"Nope," Pinkie says. "But I totally saw her just a little while ago!"
