What's that jingling sound?

It's certainly not coming from the small blonde detective with the bright green shoes, onto which she's carefully gluing bright pom poms. Catch her at her table or taking a midnight jog in her very shiny, very neon-y, shoes.

"Juliet", Nancy asks, somewhere between bewildered and amused, "what are you doing?"

Jules can't help but grin; she's always happy to see Nancy.

"Turning an old pair of sneakers into night runners," she said. "Have you ever jogged around the lake?"

[iamhismummy]

"I'm not sure I've ever jogged anywhere." Beat. "What's jogging?"

[craftylildoodlepumpkin]

"Like running, only nobody's chasing you." She holds up a tube of glittery puff paint. "This stuff glows in the dark, and it should keep away anything that might try to come after me outside."

[iamhismummy]

"Anything?" She raises her eyebrows. "It won't make them notice you, instead?"

[craftylildoodlepumpkin]

"It should scare them away, and if it doesn't..." she pats her hip. "My service revolver's still on me."

[iamhismummy]

"That's much more like it", Nancy declares.

[craftylildoodlepumpkin]

"Not that I've ever had those kinds of problems here. I haven't even run into a demon bunny yet."

[iamhismummy]

"I've seen them, but only at a distance."

[craftylildoodlepumpkin]

"And I wouldn't get much closer, if I were you."

[iamhismummy]

"Not planning on it!" Nancy grins. "Why, have you?"

[craftylildoodlepumpkin]

"Nope," she says. "I don't really hunt."

Which is surprising information; she can kill a man at a hundred paces with a crossbow.

"They're probably not good eating, anyway."

She doesn't approve of hunting if you're not going to eat it.

[craftylildoodlepumpkin]

"Can you imagine what a demon like that tastes like?" Jules shudders.

[iamhismummy]

She actually gives that some thought. "Like brimstone?"

[craftylildoodlepumpkin]

"Or smoke." She raises an eyebrow. "Annnd now I'm kinda craving barbecue."

Shawn's rubbed off on her.

[iamhismummy]

"...what's barbecue?"

It wasn't really a thing in 1940s England.

[craftylildoodlepumpkin]

"It's when you take a lot of meat and grill it. Shawn's dad thinks he's an expert at making it." She'll just quietly find it a tragedy that anyone ever had to live without barbeque.

[iamhismummy]

"But you don't agree?" She shrugs and explains, "Meat's still hard to come by when I'm from."

[craftylildoodlepumpkin]

"He's not bad but, well..." she's not going to be mean about it; meanness and Juliet. "He and Shawn are a lot alike. And they like to brag. And when they brag, I have to sit in the middle...you should ask Bar for some next time you're here."

[iamhismummy]

"To stop it coming to punches, you mean? Or you have to listen to all of it?" Nancy grins. "Maybe I will."

[craftylildoodlepumpkin]

"With those two, it's more likely to come to Shawn running in the opposite direction." Henry's never raised a hand to his son, and vice-versa, but Shawn likely wouldn't dare hit his own father.

Meanness and Juliet, again, doesn't mix. "I'll hold you to that. You have to try it!"

"Maybe I'll pop in at lunch and we can share some", she suggests.

"Mmm, I'd love that. I might share a few with Shawn, too." Maybe. Maybe-maybe.

"Invite him along, more the merrier. Gus can come too."
