Mirai has close to her normal level of self-esteem and functionality back, enough of it to go down to the bar by herself. It's ultimately not much of a change from what she was doing in her room. She tucks herself in a secluded booth, buries herself in a blanket, and picks at a plate of nachos.

Bringing more nachos would be nice.

And Mirai explains the suits, the numbers, why they're different colors, what order they usually go in.

"They're nice to look at, aren't they? Even when we're not playing."

He picks up the patterns pretty quickly. After all, ravens are very smart. "So what games can you play with these?"

"You can play games by yourself or games against other people. By yourself is when it's like a puzzle, and playing against others kind of depends on what cards you get and what cards they get. I mostly play by myself, though..."

She sloppily shuffles the cards, not used to analog play.

"We could play Go Fish? That game's easy to learn."

"Okay. I can do that. Where are the fish?"

"Ah, it's a saying for the game," she says, smiling again. Mirai holds up a card and explains, "We're going to pretend these are our fish, because these are the things we want."

She returns the card to the deck, shuffles them again, and deals five cards each. She sets the rest of the deck between them.

"In Go Fish, we want to match numbers. To get the number you want, you ask me if I have any. If I do, I have to give them to you. If I don't, I'll tell you to 'Go Fish,' and you take one card from this stack in the middle. Once you have the same number from all the different suits, you get to put them in your stack. And the player with the most matches in their stack wins."

"Oh, okay. I think I understand." He picks his cards up, trying to work out the best way to hold them. "Will you start so I know I've got it right?"

Mirai nods and asks, "Do you have any 8s?"

"They are the loopy ones right?" He draws the shape on the tabletop. "If so, yes. I give it to you now right?"

"That's right on both of those," she answers.

He hands over the card with care. He shuffles what's in his hand. "Do you have a..." He draws on the table top, "A four?"

Mirai tucks the card into her hand, examining it before saying, "Go Fish."

"So I take one from the pile?" He picks one up and looks at it, taking a moment to puzzle out the number before tucking it in his hand.

"Yes. And if you have all four cards with the same number on them, you can put them in your stack."

"Oh. Not yet but maybe I can find another one."

They keep playing for a while, Diaval smiling brightly when he finally gets a set of four.

"Good job!" Mirai cheers him on. "And we keep playing until all the cards have been matched up."

"Okay. I can do that." He keeps playing, stumbling over some of the numbers but getting there in the end.

"I have..." He counts his piles, "four piles. That means you win, right?"

She nods. "It was fun playing with you, though. And you picked it up fast. Thank you for asking to play."

She offers her hand to shake. And then, realizing that he might not know what she's doing, she goes, "Ah, when the game is over, it's nice to shake hands with the person you're playing with and say, 'Good game.' So that they know you had a good time with them."

He nods and holds out his hand. "Good game, thank you."

She takes his hand in hers and gently shakes. "Good game."

"Would you like some tea? The game was fun but it has made me very thirsty."

"Yeah, I think I would, too. Thank you for coming to sit with me, Diaval-san."
