Mirai has close to her normal level of self-esteem and functionality back, enough of it to go down to the bar by herself. It's ultimately not much of a change from what she was doing in her room. She tucks herself in a secluded booth, buries herself in a blanket, and picks at a plate of nachos.
Bringing more nachos would be nice.

"Hey, little miss," he drawls in greeting, flashing a smile. "How're ya?"
no subject
"I got nachos."

He does the play bow and places his paws up on the seat.

"Ah, who are you?" she asks the puppy. "These probably aren't good for you."

Meanwhile, the Fool wanders over to catch up with his dog. He has a fairly pronounced limp and uses a walking stick to help with it. "His name is Jocundus. It means happiness."
no subject
"It's not an unpleasant name. But then, that's usually the case when the name fits."
The Fool's presence doesn't seem to worsen her already glum mood.

Jocundos appears to be melting under her touches. As she scratches the dog, the Fool pulls over a chair and sits in it. He places his hand in the palm and rests his elbow on his knee.

She gently rubs the puppy's ear with her thumb in the midst of all the scratches.
"Some things are just meant to be unpleasant."
no subject
At this rate Jocundos is never going to leave her.
"So they are. But there are unpleasant things around so that we might remember the pleasant things."
