It's a beautiful warm summer's evening... oh, no it's not. In the tradition of Scout barbecues everywhere, it's absolutely pissing it down with rain.
Bonnie, however, thinks that being able to light a barbecue in rain is an important camping skill, so she is currently out front of the Scout Hut, balancing an umbrella in one hand and trying to light the first barbecue with the other.

I Can Do Better Than That!
Re: I Can Do Better Than That!
"May I try?" Rae asks. She has never tried grilling, and she is aware that she falls on the younger end of the Scout age spectrum, but she has seen Charlie grill many many times. It doesn't look too hard.

She can then go in and get ingredients and things ready for cooking while the charcoal gets ready.

But she soon finds a likely looking spot. A spot with no standing water, at least, and nothing nearby that could be harmed by fire even if everything weren't already soaked. Rae pulls on some gloves to protect her hands, while scoping out Bonnie's barbecue design. Twenty bricks, it looks like.
It takes her a few trips to get the base of the grill set-up, and the iron grate over it. For now, she leaves an umbrella over it to keep things dry while she sees to the charcoal. First off, though, she darts back into the bar for some newspaper to crumple up as the traditional starting material for lighting charcoal - or at least as what Charlie always uses for the purpose when grilling.

"Well I figure the kids could have to light a fire in the rain on camp, so I didn't want to cancel."

She has kebabs of button mushrooms, green and red bell peppers, sweet onions, tofu, and summer squash waiting to go on the grill, with a simple glaze to go on it while it cooks.

"It could be a lot better," she agrees, giggling. "But it could be worse, too. It's not snowing, at least, or storming really bad. And there's good food."
