first entrance!
On the other side of the door, where no one can see it, a young man frowned slightly at a feeling he's not sure of for a split second before the Door opens.
In fact, the Door doesn't so much get pushed open as slide aside in an uncharacteristically futuristic way. "No, no, go tell him I'll be right there," he says over his shoulder--a computerized voice can be faintly heard to be saying "Of course, sir"--and steps through.
And freezes, even as the door closes behind him.
His eyes narrow as he scans the room. Nothing seems overtly threatening, though--and a bar is a bar. After a moment he moves with almost deceptive casualness towards the bar itself, trying to project that he knows exactly what he's doing. After all, where better to learn what's going on?
And if Anakin Skywalker's hand stays close to his lightsaber, well, who can blame him?

"Hey. I wouldn't use that here if I were you. Security might not like that."
[ooc: placeholder till Sat night.]

So he just raises an eyebrow slightly, spreading his hands in a shrug of total innocence. "I don't appear to be using it, do I? Obviously I have no intention of getting entangled with Security."
What Security? He wants to know.
[ooc: sure thing, take your time!]

And it's almost true, in a way. Wariness of new surroundings is one thing. But he's not too much more on edge than he would be in most cantinas--which are, after all, frequently hives of scum and villainy and bounty hunters and as such not particularly friendly places. The only thing making this more unusual is that there wasn't supposed to be a cantina here.
Well, that and Milliways is much nicer. And cleaner. And quieter. And more appealing.

Shocked he may be, but padawan training has kicked in and before he knows it, he's up and walking towards Anakin, bowing in respect when Anakin looks his way. Which he will, of course, since Quin is walking towards him.
"Good morning, master. I am padawan Quinlan Vos. May I be of service?"
no subject
Also, he knows that name. Obi-Wan's told stories.
But Quinlan Vos isn't a padawan, he's Obi-Wan's age. Something very strange indeed is happening--but at least Anakin doesn't seem to be getting a bad feeling about this. Just a great deal of confusion.
Being a full Jedi Knight is still slightly new to him, but he's supposed to be the confident one of master and padawan, so he strives for retaining the impression of self-assurance. "Actually, I believe you can. A thorough explanation seems to be in order."
Translation: what the hell is going on here?
no subject
"To return to where you came, simply step back through the door you came in from. The doorways can be unpredictable and do not open for everyone."
The way this Quinlan is acting, is very different than Obi-Wan's stories.

They spot the saber and sniff at it interestedly.
"Heckle! Jeckle! Leave the guy alone!" A voice calls from the other side of the room. Jay is bent over a complex circuit he's soldering.
no subject
While he does turn slightly to edge his lightsaber away from them--they seem friendly and playful enough, but lightsabers are not toys--Anakin can't help but peer at them with fascination.
"What are they?"
no subject
Jay holds the goggles he's working on up to the light to check the positioning before slotting the circuit in place and wiring it in.

A napkin appeared on the surface of the bar. The Count laughed, "There is no such thing as vampires."
He looked around smiling nervously. He is also very pale, and his dark hair is pulled back into a pony tale.
no subject
All of which is very good for the Count.
As it is, Anakin just goes still for a moment in his spot not too far away down the Bar, and then returns to his drink, slightly more on the alert than before.
After all, no one has good reason to be given blood as a drink order, requested or otherwise--to say nothing of how that presence feels.
no subject
"Well, how about brandy," he said. What he couldn't get around was the sound of the beating hearts around him. The glass appeared with the brown liquid, "Thank you, my dear."
He sat back on his stool to look around the bar. He is a very powerful creature, he just doesn't know it at the moment.
no subject
"Psssssst," follows, from above.
Doctor Evil is precariously stretched out on a rafter. He's not really sure how he got there, but he totally meant to do it. Yeah. Totally on purpose.
no subject
Okay, the little man looks ridiculous. Frankly. But stuck up in rafters? Meh, it's the sort of thing that happens all the time at the Jedi Temple.
To younglings.
So if he's trying to hide a snicker, well. At least he's hiding it. Mostly. He meets Doctor Evil's eyes and gestures to proceed, just in case the man was trying to be stealthy or something.
no subject
It's like someone trying to do the robot on a surfboard.
"I'm just... could you.... riiight."
Is this what flipped over turtles feel like?
"Look, I can't pretend this is dignified, but could you help an evil genius out? Okay? Yeah?"

"Hey. You? Can chill out."
Anakin might sense some kind of power emanating from inside her. Lesser than his own - at least for the moment - and partly dormant.
"No one's gonna attack you here."
no subject
But also--honestly, he's not that irritable! Let it go, he's doing just fine.
He thinks. Irritably.
Still, he's not really in a place or position to be picking fights, nor the mood for it. So he tries to give her a smile. "So I have gathered. This place seems remarkably peaceable. Not much like the ones at home." Cantinas on Tatooine especially.
(He can sense there are beings of many kinds of power and presence here. She is only one. Why should he be less than wary?)
no subject
"My hand wasn't far from my piece when I came in the first time, either."

Now this is an interesting one. He knew enough of Ibani and her world to recognize the weapon at his side - that and that mercenary eye of his. Could he be from the same world? Well, there was one way to find out.
"That's an interesting saber you have, f'lah."
Then, as if to acknowledge how that remark might be interpreted, he holds up his right palm and smiles, a little.
"Thankfully, you'll have no need of it here."
no subject
Fascinating indeed.
"I'm starting to wish more cantinas were this quiet at home," he says wryly. "It might solve a surprising number of problems if they were." And reduce his need to carry a lightsaber constantly.
(He would anyway.)
no subject
"If you could round up either of those things, you may be in business."

She looks in his direction, intrigued by a strong Force presence she doesn't recognize. Thankfully, she's not dressed as she usually is. The beige outfit and boots wouldn't look too out of place on a Jedi and the lightsaber on her hip is NOT the one she received from Darth Zash but a yellow bladed Jedi saber captured in battle.
"Welcome," Ibani says with a friendly smile. "I haven't seen you around here before."
no subject
And with Ibani not appearing Sith-like, he makes the obvious assumption that she's a Jedi. So he just smiles wryly at her. "Relatively new, yes." Meaning he doesn't want to admit as far as this place goes, he's shiny. "Have you been coming here long?"
no subject
"A few months, by my calendar, but longer by the one here. Time is...strange here, to say the least."
His Force presence is strange, unlike anything she's ever felt. He burns like the heart of a star. Strange to see a Jedi burn with such fire.
"I'm Ibani. Is there a name I should call you by?"
