MilliScouts Lake Adventure!
It's a little bit colder than Bonnie had hoped for the trip, so since the crack of dawn she has been lugging borrowed wetsuits from the bar out to the lake so that the kids don't get cold.
She's now just about got the canoes set up, and they're ready to go! A large sign is posted on the back door to direct people over.
'Milliscouts Lake Adventure.
If you wish to join us, please collect a buoyancy aid and a packed lunch from the bar and report for the safety instructions.
Non-scouts welcome*.'
[ooc: Open to all child-friendly pups, see participation guidelines if in doubt, event lasts all weekend. Have at it party post style.]

Setup/Safety Instructions
"Right, we all stick together as a group, so if you see anyone fallin' behind you holler me. Anyone who ain't wearin' a buoyancy aid ain't comin' on the lake. And finally, these are big canoes and you shouldn't fall in unless yer messin' around, so if you don't want ter spend the rest of the day feelin' cold and miserable, don't do nothin' stupid. Any questions?"
Re: Setup/Safety Instructions
(Truth be told, she'd normally be far away from any group like this but since she has so many free floating enchantments about, she decided to make sure nothing would happen to the kids. Fair is fair.)

He picks up one of the canoes and sets it in the water, ready to go.
Out on the lake.
There is a serene calmness on the water.

(He doesn't really understand this whole buoyancy aid business, but is wearing one to set a good example.)
Re: Out on the lake.
She chose to share a canoe with him, also wearing 'buoyancy aid'. Every so often the idea of going into the water to really test it out enters her mind, but she doesn't see anyone else doing in and besides, she's not that great of a swimmer yet.
Instead, she sticks with paddling, switching the oar as needed.
Re: Out on the lake.
He smiles at her quietly.
"We haven't really had much chance to talk lately, Gyda. How are you?"
Re: Out on the lake.
The current is a little strong where they are at the moment, so she has to push the paddle a little harder through the water. "Rae showed me a collection of what are called 'ghost stories'. I think...I think I could visit home for a few days with father, but as a ghost."
She hoped and prayed to the gods that she might. There were no such tales in their land, except the few spirits made to guard treasure, but that didn't mean there couldn't ever be other ghosts too.
Re: Out on the lake.
Athelstan stills except for his hands on the paddles, watching her.
"And - is that something you want to do?"
