Scouts Rock Climbing

At the nearest part of the mountains, there is a nearly vertical wall about fifteen metres high. It took a little bit of doing, but after driving out there with a giant ladder and a lot of power tools, Bonnie has been able to drill some hooks safely into the top of the rock.

There is a big sign inside the back door directing the Scouts up to the activity.

SCOUTS
REAL ROCK CLIMBING SET UP
FOLLOW THE SIGNS

Child-friendly non scouts would also be welcome!

[ooc: As always treat as a party post, threadhopping encouraged. All kids must be roped up to an adult via the hooks and harnesses provided. We have a Teja now and hopefully later a Jay but you are welcome to bring your own adult.]

"Am I too little?" Coral asks, looking up at him.

"I would say you are not," Teja says, "especially if I hold you on a rope, so if you fall, you would not drop."

"Yay!" Coral bounces over ready to be attached up.

"I want to go all the way to the top!"

"You need to put on this harness, for this," Teja says. "And a helmet."

"Harness and a helmet." Coral nods, managing to find both in her size. Sweet!

"Please can you do the clippies?"
ostro_goth: (Attentive)

"Of course," Teja says, "for I shall make sure hat I have you safely, before you climb up."

"I don't want to fall, it looks very high." Coral agrees.

"Maybe Egil can get up soon!"

Once she's all fastened up, Coral makes a race for the wall.

Hm, there's none of those coloured blobs this time. Now she's not quite sure where to start.

"Just grab the rocks that protrude most," Teja says.

Jay is half way up himself, double checking one of the handholds and setting a bad example by not using a rope.
