Scouts Rock Climbing

At the nearest part of the mountains, there is a nearly vertical wall about fifteen metres high. It took a little bit of doing, but after driving out there with a giant ladder and a lot of power tools, Bonnie has been able to drill some hooks safely into the top of the rock.

There is a big sign inside the back door directing the Scouts up to the activity.

[ooc: As always treat as a party post, threadhopping encouraged. All kids must be roped up to an adult via the hooks and harnesses provided. We have a Teja now and hopefully later a Jay but you are welcome to bring your own adult.]

If you didn't bring a grown up to help, there's a couple milling around to help you get up that wall!

"I would say you are not," Teja says, "especially if I hold you on a rope, so if you fall, you would not drop."

"Maybe Egil can get up soon!"

Once she's all fastened up, Coral makes a race for the wall.

Hm, there's none of those coloured blobs this time. Now she's not quite sure where to start.

Jay is half way up himself, double checking one of the handholds and setting a bad example by not using a rope.

"All ready to help some kids up a ridiculously high piece of rock?" Bonnie asks, grinning at him.

"Ridiculously high" Jay hangs from one hand before dropping down to join her. "You should see what I use to climb as a kid."

"Not when you were five, I hope." Bonnie grins. "Felt pretty high fer me puttin' those hooks in at the top."

"No, you're right there. I didn't start climbing skyscrapers till I was twelve." He grins, setting out the ropes.

"First time I woke up in a tree I was fifteen." Bonnie says, shaking her head. "Don't remember climbin' it though."

"Think that was the hangover where I aced a maths test and then vomited right outside the teachers' lounge on my way to get fresh air." Bonnie says, with a grimace.

Jay tries not to laugh too loud and fails. "Nice work." he offers her a high five.

"Didn't even get caught on that one." she admits. "Never been so much one fer climbin' trees sober."

"We are not exactly the world's best role models. Hopefully these kids can learn from the mistakes we made."

Bonnie isn't roped up, for... medical reasons which she has to tell them all about at some point, so she'd like to catch a couple of the kids today.

She's got hot drinks and cookies for those who have finished climbing too.
