Well, this is new. And that's OK! New is good. Unexpected is not, particularly, and that's why this particular young man's surprise at finding himself wandering strange corridors has quickly melted to suspicion, and then anger.

He schools himself out of it by the time he finds the stairs. He waits at the bottom of them, perfectly still apart from large, dark eyes that flit over the whole place, taking it all in with no expression on his face. Only the Window gets a second look, and when he's finished his surveillance he walks over to it and stands there, staring in mute wonder, one hand pressed to the glass.

He can investigate the room later. This is more interesting for now.

"I found it and proved it existed. You just don't like being wrong,"

He doesn't care what James thinks because James is stupid and keeps changing the rules.

'You hit a wall. How have I been wrong about anything? I didn't say I could find stuff that doesn't exist.'

But Quentin did, and has not proved it. Therefore: liar.

'You're stupid. I don't like stupid people.'

"I didn't hit anything, I found a catch. You're the one who's stupid and doesn't believe what you see,"

Quentin raises his voice and wonders how much trouble he would get in if he hit James.

'I believe there's a door. I don't believe you found anything.'

James does not care whether he did or not, he just likes making other people shout. It's so funny.

'Idiot.'

He crosses his arms then uncrosses them, standing up straight and balling his fists, "You're a troll."

'Back on the fairy tales? Do I live under a bridge as well?'

Something to do with goats, isn't it? It's been a long time since he read baby stuff. He straightens up too, and laughs. It's not a nice sound.

'You're so boring. What're you going to do next, cry?'

Quentin punches him, he aims for James' face while almost yelling, "You better be careful!"

He laughs more, even when Quentin's bony little fist smacks him right in the eye. He swears too, because it does hurt but WHATEVER. He's had worse from his brother, until he taught him to know better.

'Great comeback. Really smart.'

He says this with a hand over his face. It smarts.

'What're you going to do, hit me again?'

Good luck with that making a difference.

He says the worst curse he knows before stomping off, he doesn't like James, "Oberon's beard, you're awful."

Oberon's beard??? James mouths this at Quentin's back, then goes back to laughing.

Yes, he's awful. Yes, he's been told before. Yes, he's fine with it. C'est la vie. He rubs his eye one more time, and then walks back to the Window.
