There's a campout being set up out back!
Or at least starting to get set up; one of the tents just sort of fell over, the fire isn't yet lit, and the camp gadgets are still a pile of sticks.
Looks like a job for some MilliScouts...

A few more breaths and it's a proper fire.
Re: Food!
"We've got all the makings for kebabs for supper, I think," she says, bringing over a handful of skewers. "They're really fun to make over a campfire."
Most importantly, for Rae, campfire kebabs are easy to customize to one's particular dietary needs. There are plenty of veggies that are good grilled - zucchini, squash, sweet potato, onion, button mushrooms, sweet peppers - with haloumi for the vegetarians, as well as cubes of beef and chicken for the omnivores of the group.
Re: Food!
She didn't really know what kebabs were, but she'd read of the term and looking at the cubes of vegetables and meat, the rest was easy enough. "We've cooked over a fire, but not from metal skewers."
She picked up a piece of haloumi, smelling it then giving it a taste. "This tastes almost like goat cheese, but it's hard, not soft."

Campfire singing
Here's the place to sing your campfire songs, or chip in the next verse.
Re: Campfire singing
Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut
A Pizza Hut, a Pizza Hut
Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut
McDonalds, Mcdonalds!
Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut!
McDonalds, Mcdonalds!
Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut!"
Re: Campfire singing
A fire full of fish and a trilobite
A trilobite, a trilobite
A fire full of fish and a trilobite
A shark, a shark!
A fire full of fish and a trilobite!
A shark, a shark!
A fire full of fish and a trilobite!"
Re: Campfire singing
"Ohhhh I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor - a boa constrictor - a boa constrictor!
Oh I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor, and I don't like it one bit!"
Rae lifts one foot and shakes it in mock desperation.
"Oh no! (Oh no!) He's swallowed my toe! (He's swallowed my toe!)"
Then she bends her knees and struggles as though she were wading in quick sand, or had been caught by a giant snake's maw.
"Oh jeeze! (Oh jeeze!) He's gotten my knees! (Gotten my knees!)"
"Oh my! (Oh my!) He's got to my thigh! (Got to my thigh!)"
"Oh I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor - a boa constrictor - a boa constrictor!
Oh I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor, and I don't like it one bit!"
Her arms snap to her sides and she struggles like an upright worm, wiggling back and forth.
"Oh fiddle! (Oh fiddle!) He's up to my middle! (Up to my middle!)"
The song's notes go higher as the comic, full-body struggling rises in desperation.
"Aw heck! (Aw heck!) He's got to my neck! (He's got to my neck!)"
"Oh dread!" she calls, eyes wide, "He's got to my mrrphhmmmrrrrrrrgh..."
And a moment or so later... "Oh I've been eaten by a boa constrictor, a boa constrictor, a boa constrictor. I've been eaten by a boa constrictor, and I didn't like it ONE BIT!"
