Cassian wasn't thinking about Milliways when he walked through the door to what should be a cantina where the owner is always useful for information and a connection to the black market. The music's not right and he stares, his hand resting on the blaster at his hip as he tries to understand what he's seeing. His gaze is drawn to the two banners and he heads there first, noting every weapon that he passes, there's a sniper blaster rifle that could be useful.

He's never seen the Rebellion's symbol this big before and openly daring anyone to meet it, a banner not graffiti. In front of it, he stands taller, straightening his captain's jacket as he gives it a small salute. Seeing the Empire's banner as well is disconcerting and as he passes it, his hand tightens on his blaster before he moves on.

None of this makes sense and he keeps to the edges, working his way outside to all the ships, those take longer to properly look at, because they're beautiful and here. They don't seem to be working, but he takes his time to explore them. Why is his galaxy in Milliways and marking something at 40?

"Hey," Eden says, from where he's perched -- perfectly stably, even though his perch really should be precarious -- on the cockpit of an X-Wing. "I think all of these are broken. It's very upsetting."

He doesn't sound that upset.

"You should fix them."

Fix them now, Cassian.

He stares at the boy on the X-Wing before walking forward to get near the ladder and get that boy off before he breaks something,

"Kriff, get off there, those aren't meant to hold you. If I could fix them I would."

"Why can't you fix them? It feels like an oversight that you never learned," Eden says, just a little archly. "What's wrong with them, anyway?"

"I do know how to fix them but there are key components missing. Get off the cockpit and I can show you what's wrong with them," If this boy cracks that cockpit cover, Cassian will make him pay for it.

He reaches where Eden's sitting and takes his arm, "Come off."

A quick memory of anger at having his arm taken like that before flashes through Eden's mind, and he mimics it perfectly, smile dropping away.

"That's my arm," he says, very quietly, with the unspoken but loudly implied addition of let go or lose yours.

Cassian releases Eden's arm, not the time or place to get into anything, and glances at the cockpit to see how its holding up,

"Yes and this ship is flown by those I fight with."

[arkadia]

As soon as his arm is released, Eden beams happily, sliding off the cockpit cover.

"Who's that, then?" He chirps.

"The Rebel Alliance,"

When he's off, Cassian moves to lean against the ladder just in case he gets ideas.

"What are you rebelling against?" Eden asks, apparently not noticing Cassian moving at all.

"The Galactic Empire who rules with a durasteel fist,"

The Rebellion's banner is flying in Milliways, he's not going to hide today.

[arkadia]

"Just one? How do they reach everywhere they want to durasteel punch at?"

They should have many durasteel fists. One for each arm.

Reproachfully: "It's just not practical. What's wrong with them? Apart from their hand."

"Lots of stormtroopers," He doesn't mean to smile but the questions are odd.

[arkadia]

"Stormtroopers?" Eden peers at him for a moment. "Oh, like -- soldiers, right?"

As Cassian moves past the weapons, and grips his own, a deep voice noises from behind.

"You won't need any of those."

[childofrebellion]

Cassian freezes, loosening his blaster in its holster as he turns, he doesn't know what Security will do if he fires. He needs to know how close the man is and how many civilians are around before he acts,

"Why not?"

[firstorderknight]

He's close. Not quite breathing down Cassian's neck, but close. He grips his saber hilt as a warning.

"Security wouldn't approve."

[childofrebellion]

His grip tightens on his blaster as he doesn't know how this man was able to get so near him without his knowing.

Cassian notes the grip on the saber and his eyes widen, that changes the danger level, but he risks a small step to not be as close, "No, I imagine they wouldn't."

[firstorderknight]

He can have his step backward; Kylo won't close the distance. Yet.

"It would be best if you left this area."

[childofrebellion]

"I have as much right as you do to look," He won't fire but he's not going to be ordered here.

[firstorderknight]

He merely made a suggestion!

"Do you? Flaunting your Rebel symbol will do nothing for you."

[childofrebellion]

"It will show others that the Rebellion exists and we will fight until the Empire falls,"

Cassian's life matters as much as it will help the Rebellion fight and win.

[firstorderknight]

"You will never win."

Yes, the Empire does fall, but that's not something Cassian needs to know.

[childofrebellion]

"Yes, we will, because the Empire holds its own destruction in every planet they make uninhabitable, every race they enslave and every death,"

They will win, he has built his life on that belief.

[firstorderknight]

Kylo almost laughs. Almost.

"You know nothing of what you speak."

[childofrebellion]

Cassian smiles, its grim but he's a spy, he has cover identities within the Empire, knows defectors ready to turn and he's constantly collecting informants,

"I know where the cracks are."
