The circle of chairs is... not in the bar today, instead there's a sign.

Out on the beach, there is a circle of deckchairs. It's too nice weather today to waste inside. There's also a yummy picnic, and a thermos of tea.

"Oh, sorry," Galen says. "I'm not Lecter, I just look like him. I'm Galen Erso. Apparently, he eats people, but I can take off my shirt to prove I'm not him."

"Um, no, that won't be necessary. Sorry." Guppy says. "Marshmallow?"

[galen_erso]

"What kind of animal is that?" Galen asks.

[guppy_sandhu]

"It's not an animal, just a sweet." Guppy says.

[galen_erso]

"But why are you grilling it?" Galen asks.

[guppy_sandhu]

"Because it's tasty that way." Guppy says. "Do you want one?"

[galen_erso]

"What exactly is that sweet made of?" Galen asks.

[guppy_sandhu]

"Er... sugar... gelatin?"

[galen_erso]

"That sounds harmless," Galen says. "Yes, please, in that case."

[guppy_sandhu]

Guppy passes the packet over.

"Hold them just long enough to get soft, otherwise they catch fire."

[galen_erso]

Galen puts a marshmallow on a stick and starts roasting it. "Where is this kind of food from?" he asks, as he will be wanting to tell Bodhi about it, and know more than 'it was hot, gooey, and sweet'.

[guppy_sandhu]

"Earth, I guess." Guppy says. "Where are you from?"

[galen_erso]

"A place not Earth," Galen says, "and when I enumerate the planets where I was born, lived, worked and died, I get blank looks, so I might probably say I'm from the short-lived Galactic Empire, a brief if nasty interlude of the Galactic Republic, old and new. But that's not saying anything, is it?"

He shrugs.

"Space. We cross it with FTL ships. I'm a scientist, and my lover Bodhi is a pilot."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Ah, I have met Bodhi." Guppy nods.

[galen_erso]

"Oh, have you?" Galen says. "When he was very desperate, I guess? He didn't take to being dead and alone at all well. I'm glad I'm here for him now."

[guppy_sandhu]

"It's good to have company." Guppy agrees, not wanting to go into what has happened with Bodhi with this stranger. Just in case.

[galen_erso]

"It's not just company," Galen says. "We -- I can't begin to describe it."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Are the two of you in a relationship?"

[galen_erso]

"We are lovers," Galen says, with a smile that is first shy, then blindingly proud.

[guppy_sandhu]

"Ah, then it is indeed good that you have found one another."

[galen_erso]

"Yes," Galen says. "I died first, but he came here before me."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that."

[galen_erso]

"Yes, it must have been a very hard time for him," Galen says. "I'm glad to be here for him now."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Are you adjusting here okay?"

[galen_erso]

"I am," Galen says. "I already have found tools, and droids who will work with me."
