When Barry walks into Milliways and sees the transformation of the place his face splits into a wide grin.

"Sweet."

After checking himself over and finding no apparent changes, costume or otherwise, he heads for the counter.

"Hey Bar, what's going on?"

The screen that appears makes his grin widen further.

"For real? Awesome."

After reading over the explanations and rules very carefully he swipes over to the first offered reconfiguration. When he sees what it is there's no need to go any further.

"A robot cheetah? Are you serious?"

The change happens in an eye-blink and Barry is soon marveling at his new sleek and metallic form.

Perhaps a wiser, or less enthusiastic, person would wait until they were outside to give their new form a test run, but Barry refrains from such and immediately punches it.

The result is a spotted form streaking across the bar and slamming into a setup of Lego table and chairs with a loud, "MROW--AUGH!" followed thereafter by an, "Ow."

Barry watches him, laughing as Cassian hovers around.

"That's so cool." Cassian really makes it look easy.

He slowly flies over, he wouldn't want to do anything complex like this but if he thinks of himself like a shuttle or speeder, it works. Then he nudges Barry to try his own flying again.

Barry gets that nudge and shakes his head uncertainly.

"I dunno... "

He looks over his shoulder, trying to see if he can't figure out how to do the thing with the rockets. Concentrating and thinking about what he wants to happen, he's surprised when the panels open and the rockets emerge again.

"Cool." He looks back at Cassian expectantly. "Now what?"

Cassian moves over to be parallel to him and thinks about what he's doing and goes forward at a steady speed. Then stops, he really likes being able to hover.

Barry focuses, trying to concentrate on what he wants to do, trying to start out slow.

He grins when the rockets ignite again without shooting him skyward and he makes a few hops into the air, trying to get airborne.

"The mechanics of it are just-- kinda-- weird." Each pause is another jump.

He makes a few beeps as he hovers around trying to make sense of how Barry's moving, he's in an odd bot.

Barry can be a bit of an odd duck without being a robot.

When the hopping along to get airborne doesn't work he changes tactics and starts to run.

The engines start to whirl a little louder, and Barry pushes it a little faster. He picks up more speed and then finally leaps.

"WOOHOO!"

When he gets going, Cassian stares after him before testing his own engines to see how fast he'll go. Not that fast but still pretty fast and then he has a little trouble stopping and has a bouncing stop that gets him some grass in his dome.

He does better than Barry. When Barry come streaking back he angles in attempting a soft landing, but cuts the engines too soon, doesn't get his feet down properly and ends up in a running, tumbling, somersault that finally stops when he smacks up against a tree; upside down with his back stretched up along the trunk.

"Why is stopping the hardest part?"

"Breep blip boo bwee." Momentum, I didn't get to land solo for a long time.

He comes over to see if Barry's okay and then uses his repair tools to get grass off him.

Barry flops over, landing in the grass and managing to his feet.

"I'm okay," he says, in case Cassian is worried. "I just don't think flying is really my forte."

"Bwee wrr blip." I'm not as good as I could be.

Its good Barry's not hurt, being a droid is tricky.

"You're way better at it than I am."

A thought strikes and he perks up.

"Hey, if you're a droid now can you plug into the X-wing? Maybe see what's keeping it from running?"

"Beep brip bop." That's one reason I chose this. Maybe he can make sense of what Anakin's doing.

"Is that a yes?" he asks, taking one step in the direction of the bar, then waiting on Cassian.

Cassian whirrs again and follows Barry.

"Yesss!" Barry enthuses, then takes off and runs for the bar.

It takes a moment and then Cassian lifts off the ground and flies after Barry.

Barry races up the steps to the back porch and stands beside the door.

"Are you just going to run diagnostics or can you actually work on the ship in this form? Can a droid pilot an X-wing or do you see somebody in the cockpit? Have you figured out a way to get it out of the garage yet?"

Those are a lot of questions that Cassian can't answer in a way Barry will understand but he'll try,

"Bwee brip boop bee. Wrr breep bip." Start with diagnostics, I can work on it, can't fly it and don't know how to get it out.

Listening to the whirls and beeps Barry realizes his mistake and laughs.

"Right. Okay, well let's just go check it out and we'll see what happens."

He whirrs in agreement and when they get inside head towards the elevator.

Barry bounces along to the elevator, still completely thrilled by everything going on in the bar.

"This is so awesome. Was the day when the bar changed for your world anything like this?"

Cassian whirrs quietly as he thinks about that, at least in this shape, he can hide all the complexities of the day and gives an affirmative beep as they reach the garage floor. Then he rises up and bwees at Barry, they could race again.

"So bummed I missed it." Maybe next year.

He tilts his head at Cassian's sounds and actions then grins.

"Oh-ho, is that a challenge?" he asks, pretty sure he's interpreting the droid right.
