It's Cassidy's first Halloween at Milliways.

Cassidy wouldn't have made such a big deal about it. It would've been just like any other day.

Except that the moment that he orders a drink from the bar, fwoomp, he's suddenly dressed as an 18th century wanker, complete with a blond wig that won't come off.

"What- what the fuck- no- shitshitshitshit NOOO-"

A napkin appears on the bartop.

Yes.

"No! Whyyyy? Why this? What did I ever do to you??"

Another napkin.

You never pay off your tab?

Cassidy flails his ruffles and blond locks. "Besides that?!"

The Bar only responds with a smiley face.

"SHITE!"

The vampire Lestat is not happy.

(At least he wasn't given fake fangs. A small mercy.)

"You're not?"

Cassidy is always mistaken for human and he prefers it that way.

"--Wait, what d'you mean, you didn't have skin the last time?"

"I'm a dark elf," Garyn says. "But human is a step up from the rotting ghoul shape the Bar turned me into once. I'm sure she's done worse to others."

He suspects she's probably turned somebody into a dung beetle at some point. He doesn't vocalize this thought out loud; he doesn't want to give her any ideas.

"Mind you, the ears are harder to get used to than I would have thought."

"Rotting? Jaysus Christ, that's a bit much, innit? Suddenly I don't feel so bad about all this," he says, gesturing at the silk and ruffles. Which is still annoying. But at least he's not decomposing.

"Seriously, though-- the ears? Really?"

"It's odd," Garyn says. "It still feels like the points are almost there. Like an arm that's been cut off."

"Ah. ...Yeah, sorry, that's just weird. But hey, y'know, a new experience an' all, huh?"

Cassidy can actually relate to the feeling of being dismembered, because he's actually been dismembered, but they've only just met and that's kind of TMI.

"Name's Cassidy, by the way," he adds, offering a hand to shake.

"Garyn," he says, shaking the offered hand.

"Come here long enough, nothing really surprises you."
