[OOM: The Dark Portal is destroyed and the forces of Azeroth must seek shelter on the world of Draenor.]

The Door does not open.

Instead there's a flash of purple light in the form of concentric, oval rings. An older man in dusty blue and silver robes and holding a staff appears at the center of them and for a moment he looks terribly confused. His eyes start to glow the same shade of purple as he looks around, stopping when he spots the Window. The glow fades as his mouth falls open.

Then he grins. "Ha HA! I knew it! Modera owes me a drink!"

Cassian rubs the back of head, he knows he's good at what he does but someone being impressed is disconcerting, "No, but it needs to be done or else we'll never be able to take down the Empire."

Khadgar gives him a genuine smile.

"That's why it's impressive."

"Thank you. Do you have any more questions about Milliways?"

"Oh, hundreds! But I believe you offered to show me the garage?"

"Yes, its down this way. I'll keep trying to answer what I can,"

He moves a stiffly but the elevator door isn't too far away. It opens onto the more human vehicles and stretches and stretches in all directions.

...Khadgar may never be impressed by gnomish engineering again.

"These machines are amazing! And you fly one?"

"Not these, they're not from my world. I fly ones like those,"

Cassian points down to the starfighters, there's a U-wing's foils near an X-wing that's being worked on.

Khadgar moves down the row, admiring each machine.

"But how do they go? I see no propellers or balloons anywhere!"

Once they get closer to the starfighters and U-Wing, he points out the various round parts, "These are the engines."

He peers into the large cylinder, lighting up Atiesh and holding it like a torch so he can see better.

"Is it magic powered?"

He doesn't sense any magic...

"No, fusial thrust engines and also hyperdrive. This one is what I normally fly,"

The main door's open if Khadgar wants to look inside.

He absolutely does. It's all metal, no wood or crystal anywhere. They must be very expensive.

"I have no idea what those are. Would it fall under engineering?"

"Yes, definitely engineering."

Gelbin would have a field day with this.

"We have gyrocopters and a few other flying machines, but nothing to compare with this."

He brushes his fingers along the surfaces of the ship, just taking it in.

"How many years did it take to come up with something like this?"

"I don't know. I've never been behind the construction. I know how to fix it and fly it,"

To build a ship from the bottom up would be fascinating to learn but would require someone with a different kind of education.

They're still at that point in technology where nothing's specialized yet. Airships and gyrocopters have enough similarities that the same person can build, fix, and fly both.

"And you said to other planets? How long do such trips take?"

"It depends on the distance, anywhere from an hour to a few days. Come inside, I can show you a good size galaxy map,"

There's a decent quality holoprojector that he can use. He winces as he climbs into the ship, turning it on and setting up a a holoprojector near the cockpit with a map of the galaxy. He also takes a moment to rest against the ship as his ribs hurt.

Khadgar stares. He's been to two planets and has heard of a third. He knows the Burning Legion has destroyed hundreds. But to actually see that number of worlds, of places with life on them...

"There are so many..."

"This isn't all of them just some major ones, you don't see all the moons, mines on asteroids and stations on here,"

Cassian smiles, his galaxy can be amazing.

"There's more?"

"Yes, the galaxy is always more complex than it seems on the surface,"

He pulls up one sector, the one around Ord Mantell, "See in this one there's a planet and various moons."

"And they're all inhabited?"

So many!

"Most of them, yes, there are species that can adapt to anything from the Mon Cala and Nautolans of the water planets to the Geonosians who live in tunnels inside their planet. Do you have that kind of variety where you're from?"

"Somewhat," Khadgar says, trying to recover. He hasn't felt this small in a long time. "Naga, gilblins, and more live in the oceans. Troggs, dwarves, and gnomes are all tunnelers. And of course elementals inhabit both."

He shakes his head.

"The things you must see."

"It's why I love being a pilot. There's a lot of pain in the galaxy but I do still get surprised,"

And as a pilot, he can get himself elsewhere, yes, he mainly follows orders but he's the one flying.
