Saturday Multi-pup: Brunch at Milliways

[cook_the_rude]

These things happen more or less simultaneously:
 

• Dr. Hannibal Lecter enters the bar from the kitchen, bearing a small tray of autumnal themed cupcakes;
• Teja comes in from the back, talking to little Egil, and followed by four cats who hope for a late breakfast, which is provided in the shape of tea, bread, and smoked fish for humans and cats alike;
• Galen Erso emerges from the elevator to the garage, smudged, animated and followed by merely two cats, for whom he orders tuna immediately along with his own caf;
• the door opens and in walks Ragnar Lothbrok, groaning and flapping his hands irritatedly at whatever he is leaving behind beyond the door before he realises where he is, and orders beer and a pizza;
• Father Pearse Harman walks down the stairs, carrying papers and a boxy laptop computer while politely asking the first rat he encounters to provide him with a pot of tea and some biscuits.

"Want some?" Teja says, turning to her. "Greetings, Carlotta."

[fiery_ring]

"I would love some, thank you." Carlotta says. "Hallo Teja, Egil, cats."

Teja orders more breakfast for her, and Egil turns to politely greet Carlotta while the cats try and secure themselves some fish.

[fiery_ring]

"How are you?" Carlotta asks, giving Egil a wave.

[ostro_goth]

"Dead, as always," Teja says, with that tiny hidden negative smile of his.

[fiery_ring]

"Ah, well I suppose things can't get worse." Carlotta says, cheerfully.

[ostro_goth]

"In fact, since I died, things got better and better," Teja says.

[fiery_ring]

Carlotta sips her tea.

"I don't suppose my father or grandmother ever turned up here, did they?"

[ostro_goth]

"Never," Teja says. "As far as I can tell, only you from your world. ANd only ever I from mine."

[fiery_ring]

"I did think you would have mentioned it, if they had." Carlotta says.

[ostro_goth]

"I would -- in either case," Teja nods.

[fiery_ring]

She grins. "I think my grandmother would have taken it rather badly."

[ostro_goth]

"I am sure she'd have made a terrible scene," Teja says, "and we would have had to arrest her."

[fiery_ring]

"Yes, and she would have beaten you with her handbag." Carlotta says.

[ostro_goth]

"All the more reason to arrest her," Teja says.

[fiery_ring]

"Who else is on Security these days?" Carlotta asks.

[ostro_goth]

"One called Baze, mainly," Teja says. "Although I have not seen him lately. Thor. X, of course. And sometimes, a strange child named Molly who has preternatural powers."

[fiery_ring]

"I remember Molly." Carlotta nods. "Well if you're ever short, and you'd want me, I'd be willing. It might be a while since I was in the military but I'm still in good shape, and my knee is a lot better than it was when I was last here."

[ostro_goth]

"That seems like a good idea; I shall speak with X on your behalf," Teja says.

[fiery_ring]

"Thank you - I'd like that! If she wants me to perform for her of course I'd be willing." Carlotta says. "It would be nice to have a new challenge now Molly is at school."

[ostro_goth]

"I doubt she might want to see ypu perform," Teja says, "but she is likely to interview you about your experience."

[fiery_ring]

"Well, I should think she'd want to see that I was physically capable of arresting people who aren't my grandmother." Carlotta says, munching on her kipper.

[ostro_goth]

"She might then ask you to spar, rather than stand upright upon a horse," Teja suggests.

[fiery_ring]

Carlotta laughs.

"I haven't done that for rather a long time. I mean, I could, but I do more teaching than performing in the ring, other than as Ringmaster."

"So what would you perform for her?"
