George's set up tonight is much the same as it was for the first game. Large table, stack of character sheets, bagful of dice, pizza, Doritos, Mountain Dew, and Red Vines. He's brought beer again, just in case, and a huge bowl of popcorn.
At least this time he's relatively certain everyone showing up will know it's a game. Progress.
[ooc: Plot-locked to the 2nd group of D&D players. Will have separate threads in the comments.]

"Okay, well...I've got a character sheet for you." He rifles through the papers and pulls one at random. "You'll be playing Riswynn here. I think all the information you need is on this sheet, but if not, let me know." He has a small stack of books next to him for just such eventualities.
"Ehm...I only gave her a bit of background. You can flesh that out if you want."

"Hey, this is the game, right? With the dungeons. And the dragons."
Re: Intro thread!
"Fair notice, there aren't actually any dragons in this one."
Re: Intro thread!
He cocks his head, thinking about the lack of dragons for a moment, then shrugs one shoulder.
"S'fine, I don't actually even know what a dragon is."

Mingling (or, we don't have to take our DM to have a good time)
Re: Mingling (or, we don't have to take our DM to have a good time)
"Al-dare... Aldeer... Alder..." she murmurs to herself, speculatively. "Aloof, superior-feeling sorcerer with an aloof, just-so name... probably has a goatee and Opinions."
Campaign
He's learned a little from his first experience, so he starts out by saying, "Right, so, this adventure is more mystery than fighting, just so you're aware of what to expect. You lot are an adventuring party who have been hired by one Oswald, a coroner, to travel with him to the village of Graymoor to help him investigate and tax the death of Ser Thames, a local knight. When you arrive this morning, the weather is grim, and the drizzle quickly freezes into glass in the streets. In the middle of the small town’s square, Graymoor’s blacksmith, George Gilly, lies face down in the snow, still, and ashen."
Re: Campaign
"Um...okay," he says. "I, uh -- can I tell right away that he's definitely dead? Otherwise I'll attempt to cast Healing Word. And fail, presumably. But I would try because that seems like the thing Lawful Good does."
Re: Campaign
"Once Hair-Guy's done trying to heal, I'm going to rifle through the guy's pockets," he says. Then, very firmly: "For investigatory purposes."
Re: Campaign
"Um..." she hesitates, trying and failing to sound like an aloof sorcerer bored of the mundanity of the world might sound. "So... if he's still laying where he fell, we are probably the first to find him. If Healing Word doesn't work, 'cause he's dead, Aldeyr would - or I would, I suppose - try and see if there's any sign of the cause of death that he can see on the blacksmith's back. That'd be..."
She looks over her character sheet again. Which would it be?
"...Perception? To see if I can perceive the cause of death?"
A roll of the dice gives her: "...I got an eleven?"
