[oom: friends from out of town]
Barry is supposed to be be telling his friends to pack it up.
Instead, he makes plans to meet them for coffee in the morning and then heads home, wandering into Milliways instead of his apartment when he gets there.
Not letting the lows of the day bring him down, Barry is still buzzing with excitement. Heading for the counter, Barry takes a seat and is immediately presented with a milkshake. It's peppermint and green, and Barry grins at the countertop.
"See, you understand," he says to Bar, giving her a fond pat and she responds by producing a basket of fries, a note, and the gift that goes with it.
Barry eyes the glass and reads the note, shaking his head.
"Oh, Yamato, noooo."
He should maybe be disapproving, but right now it's more just bemusement.

Yamato has no memory of leaving any notes, so it's a genuine question, and he looks completely serious about it as he approaches the Bar, drawing up alongside Barry.
After all, surely nobody in Milliways knows he got drunk except Cassian! And he's sure Cassian will take that secret to his grave.
He has a notepad in his hand, as is usual for him lately, covered in formulae and diagrams. He's also sniffing the air, because the smell of the milkshake has just hit his nose.
"Is that mint?"
no subject
"No, this," Barry says to Yamato, holding up the note in one hand so Yamato can see it, and the glass of sake in the other.
The flavor identity of Barry's milkshake can wait until after Yamato explains himself.

"I don't -- that's ..." he says, awkwardly. "It was a spur of the moment thing. Someone mentioned it as a coping strategy, and Lord Goemon had this rare sake that wasn't being used ..."
He clears his throat.
"I ... didn't realise that drunk me decided to drunktext people."
Or the closest equivalent in Milliways.

He sighs, rubbing the back of his neck. "Besides, having to run troops through training exercises with a killer hangover was more than enough to convince me not to do it again."
Or at least to not get drunk on that particular sake again.
no subject
Barry takes a sniff of the sake and wrinkles his nose, setting it down beside his milkshake glass (and away from Yamato).
"Whoo, there are also better drinks you could've gone down that road with." Not that Barry isn't going to drink the sake, because he is curious about it and what affect, if any, it might have.
"Do I even wanna ask what the legal drinking age is in Odaiba?"
no subject
"Anyway, I'm in the Digital World right now anyway, right? No drinking age laws there," he says. "Legal drinking age in Odaiba is, er, twenty, but that's -- that's definitely not relevant."
no subject
"I'm curious, Yamato, how is that supposed to make it better?" he asks, trying to follow the logic.
As far as legal limits, "Not relevant, huh? Not relevant, huh? Why the Digital World booze, then? Why not ask Bar?"
no subject
Then again, maybe not. He did chew up a book of rare poetry, write drunk-notes to people, pass out on the floor, and then spend the entire next day with a splitting hangover, after all.
Barry's question about Bar gets him to duck his head, giving the bartop an accusing look. Grudgingly: "Because I knew she wouldn't serve me alcohol."

By the note Yamato left and the fact he doesn't remember leaving it Barry can assume Yamato and 'somebody' had quite a bit.

Barry can't exactly say too much about it. Not after the New Year's Atlantean Incident.
Lifting his milkshake, Barry stirs it up a bit while reading over Yamato's note.
"Oh, and just so you know, I love you, too man," he says with a laugh and grin.

"A momento, I guess, from someone who must've had quite the night." Yamato must have been pretty drunk to leave these things for Barry with the bar.
no subject
Which talked about being drunk together but Barry doesn't need to know that.
no subject
Folding the note up and putting it away, Barry throws a nod at Yamato.
"So, how's it going, Cass?"
no subject
There's been some space since he had to fire a shot through the rain and now he's working on what's next.
no subject
Having just dealt with another illness with all of his friends on top of Cassian thinking he was someone else, Barry had cause for concern.
Barry smiles even wider when Cassian mentions being happy. "Some friends of mine are visiting from out of town. It's uh, it's pretty cool to have them around."
no subject
He didn't like not knowing who he was.
no subject
Not bothering to clamp down on his excitement, Barry answers, "The Arrow, and my two friends who are on his team. He's working a case in Starling and came to Central City for some help."
And, to go by Barry's expression, it is all clearly awesome.
no subject
Its good to know that Barry has good friends to work with.
no subject
Which is cool. Barry gets it.
Sort of.
"But it's still really cool to have the Arrow in town. Although... some people don't think so." But Barry thinks it's awesome!
no subject
If Cassian was in a point where he needed to understand evidence then he'd ask Barry as he knows his job.
no subject
There's still the chance Oliver might change his mind. At least, that's what Barry is hoping for.
