Happy New All Skate!

"You know what, let's have a party."

Dinah threw her platinum card (thanks, Oracle) on the Bar and as a result there is free flowing champagne for everyone whose culture, age and religion permits champagne - and top quality soft alternatives for the rest. There are bar snacks doing the rounds around the tables, and delicate winter flower arrangements on each surface.

And most importantly, on the TV screen is a lot of dancing, a giant countdown, and a big ball ready to drop.

...and when the ball drops, something happens.

All welcome - yes, that means all. Whether they're retired, deleted, AU, original or already being played by someone else, bring 'em along.

Usual all-skate rules apply:
1. Everyone's stressed out of their mind right now, so have fun!
2. Communication is key.
3. Gratuitous behaviour (either of a violent or sexual nature) will not be tolerated in the bar proper. Take that to an OOM, and then Content Warning the hell out of it before you link it.
4. Much like Vegas, what happens in All Skates, stays in All Skates (in most cases)
5. Please don't be a dick.

"You okay there, bud?" Michael asks. A tall gentleman with a silver hair and bow tie and a champagne flute in hand, Michael offers a gentle smile.

"You look a little... sad-py," he notes, then explains, "Which is both happy and sad, but hap-ad just sounds all bad."

Cassian glances over at the man with a confused look, "I'm fine, end of the year is always a mixed time."

"I guess that's true," Michael allows, although he's not quite convinced the man is fine.

"You looking for someone, or just taking in the scene?"

It might be nice if they did but he doesn't think anyone has, and he's trying to not hope too much.

"Ah, well I'm sorry then. If you were hoping for someone," Michael replies, although Cassian makes it sound like he wasn't.

Cassian shrugs, he's trying not to hope, "Are you enjoying yourself? I'm Cassian."

Hope is the best thing, Michael may have to tell Cassian that.

"Oh I am," he says, very obviously happy with being here. "I'm Michael, it's good to meet you."

"Where are you from, Michael?" Cassian's likes finding out about the people who come to Milliways.

"Oh, you know, thereabouts," Michael non-answers. Michael can't exactly tell this mortal that he's originally from the Bad Place and now resides in the Good Place without explaining both of those places and possibly ruining (or at least hindering) Cassian's chances of getting into the latter when the time comes.

His face lights up when he realizes he does have one place he can name that is safe to say.

"Recently I spent time in Australia."

That's something that Cassian understands, he has a home but competitions mean he's on the road a lot.
