Happy New All Skate!
"You know what, let's have a party."
Dinah threw her platinum card (thanks, Oracle) on the Bar and as a result there is free flowing champagne for everyone whose culture, age and religion permits champagne - and top quality soft alternatives for the rest. There are bar snacks doing the rounds around the tables, and delicate winter flower arrangements on each surface.
And most importantly, on the TV screen is a lot of dancing, a giant countdown, and a big ball ready to drop.
...and when the ball drops, something happens.
Welcome to another Milliways All-Skate!
All welcome - yes, that means all. Whether they're retired, deleted, AU, original or already being played by someone else, bring 'em along.
Usual all-skate rules apply:
1. Everyone's stressed out of their mind right now, so have fun!
2. Communication is key.
3. Gratuitous behaviour (either of a violent or sexual nature) will not be tolerated in the bar proper. Take that to an OOM, and then Content Warning the hell out of it before you link it.
4. Much like Vegas, what happens in All Skates, stays in All Skates (in most cases)
5. Please don't be a dick.

He listens with a curious ear and gives a nod. "That is the problem with mortals. Hang out with them enough and they start rubbing off on you. Make you start thinking like them. Like brain eaters." He's including himself in having been brain eaten. After all, he's sitting here acting mortal.
Alec gives the churro Slim Jim thing another idle poke and then goes for a stuffed mushroom. "When I get bored I possess alternate versions of myself and live their lives," he said.

"They really do get under your skin," Michael agrees. "Like a parasite, but a good one. They worm their way into your heart, making you realize that you have one."
Michael really isn't all that poetic, but he certainly means it all well.
"You possess alternate versions of yourself," Michael repeats carefully, trying to piece that together. "That's different. How does that work, exactly?"

"Which isn't always a good thing. It can make you hurt. Which isn't..." Fun. Emotions are hard to deal with sometimes. Especially since he gets to watch people he cares about die. He shakes his head briefly.
He's being morose. It happens when his head is being skittery. Trying to be two people at once.
"It's ... weird. There's me, the eldritch entity and then there's all these different mortal versions of myself out in the multiverse. I find them and ... just... possess them. Become them. Live their lives. Sometimes I remember who I am, sometimes I don't. It's a bit of a crap-shot," he said wiggling a finger in his ear.

Anxious for a moment, Michael's expression softens into a smile and he goes on, "But you know what? I've come to appreciate having feelings. Even the hurt, because the hurt makes all of the other ones so much greater."
That's his take on the matter, at least.
"That's very weird," Michael says after listening to Alec explain his thing. "You just hop into the body of another random you and just drive them around. How long do you stay in there?"
