Dinah threw her platinum card (thanks, Oracle) on the Bar and as a result there is free flowing champagne for everyone whose culture, age and religion permits champagne - and top quality soft alternatives for the rest. There are bar snacks doing the rounds around the tables, and delicate winter flower arrangements on each surface.

And most importantly, on the TV screen is a lot of dancing, a giant countdown, and a big ball ready to drop.

...and when the ball drops, something happens.

Welcome to another Milliways All-Skate!
All welcome - yes, that means all. Whether they're retired, deleted, AU, original or already being played by someone else, bring 'em along.

Usual all-skate rules apply:
1. Everyone's stressed out of their mind right now, so have fun!
2. Communication is key.
3. Gratuitous behaviour (either of a violent or sexual nature) will not be tolerated in the bar proper. Take that to an OOM, and then Content Warning the hell out of it before you link it.
4. Much like Vegas, what happens in All Skates, stays in All Skates (in most cases)
5. Please don't be a dick.

Mentally Charles fixes the tie and adjusts the glasses before adding Dick sprawled out on a nearby leather couch in a blue and black striped sweater vest and with lovely tousled hair, "Better."

Sweater vest?

"Really?"

SILK vest. Dashing suit.

Sweater vests are soft, "Your suit will end up wrinkled."

Charles switches out his outfit to a black turtleneck and no glasses, slightly more casual. He's aiming for that bohemian downtown look, but he's a little too formal to carry it off.

"Ahead of your time," Dick says. He gives Charles a black beret and sunglasses to match the beatnik look.

"I am? I've seen people dressed like this in New York,"

Most of them pulling it off better than he is.

"Maybe I'm out of touch with my history?"

Dick eases out of the day dream and looks up at Charles' real face. "What year has it just turned for you?"

"1957, when is it for you?" Time in Milliways is weird.

"1997."

Time is weird - but lots of things are weird. "I thought it was earlier for you, I must have stopped paying attention somewhere."

"It might have been before,"

After all, he hasn't been consistently coming to Milliways.

"At least time isn't running backwards."

This is a legitimate risk, okay? It happens!

Dick reaches up a hand and brushes a bit of hair away from Charles' face.

"Oh great, 50s hair product."

"Has that happened to you? What else would I use?"

Especially for a party like this, that's what makes his hair behave.

"Ever thought about just going natural?"

Dick is kidding, his hair is full of product himself.

He shakes his head though - lots of time wierdness in his life, but it hasn't run backwards yet.

"I like my hair how it is," He gives Dick's hair a kind of a ruffle with a smile.

"I like your hair," Dick protests lightly. He arches his back enough to lift his head, suggesting very strongly that Charles should maybe lean down to meet him?

Charles smiles and blushes a little as he leans down, "You're so flexible."

"And you're psychic," Dick points out. He leans up a little more just to press his lips gently to Charles' own.

We all have talents

At the kiss, Charles shares the lovely feeling he's getting as he returns it. Yes, we do.

Dick closes his eyes, hums into Charles' mouth, and takes a second to enjoy the sensation shared between both of them.

Before he takes another drink of his champagne and lets himself fall back.

"When do you have to choose? Or can you just keep taking science and see how it goes?"

"I've got some time," Which he likes, he wants to consider his choice. He sips his champagne and keeps his other hand on Dick's hair.
