"As if I needed the reminder that my subsection of the Reclamation Service was built to fail," Ibani mutters as she walks in, staring at a datapad.
She looks up when she feels that she's in Milliways. "Thank the Force, I could use a drink."

Really, who opens a conversation with a greeting anyway -- not Yamato, he just jumps right into interrogation.

"How have you been? I haven't seen you in a while."

Although that may be a recent turn of events, if the bandages peeking out of the collar and sleeves of his t-shirt are anything to go by.

Ibani frowns at the bandages peaking out. "I'm glad you're okay now, although it looks like things were a touch too interesting for a bit?"
It's an invitation to talk about it, but only if he wants to.

"A battle with those things from that world you couldn't stay in very long without going mad?"

He pauses for a moment, rubbing the back of his neck.
"His corrupted programming aside, though, he says I reneged on some promises. Ones I made -- I guess about twenty-five thousand years ago. Before I was me. I don't remember making them."

Its been a while since she's been in, he's tired, lots of missions that keep him moving back and forth across the galaxy.
no subject
She puts a hand on his shoulder in concern. "Lots of missions back to back?" she guesses.

"A team leader died under rather nasty circumstances. His rate of team turnover and team deaths were rather high, looking at his file, so I'm wondering if his rookies decided to do him in BEFORE he got them killed."
It's not NECESSARILY a problem if they did.
no subject
Were his men obvious about killing him?
no subject
"I have a feeling that that's true, but that there was also some very deliberate 'deafness' on the part of his team when he ran into them."

Ibani sighs. "He was good at hiding it. I'm still learning how to interpret all the paperwork I get, or I would have noticed sooner." She feels guilty about that.

"That sort of day again, is it, love?"

Barring objections, she'll slide in next to Garyn. "More proof that I've been given the dregs of a dozen different subsections with the remainder being directly out of basic training," she explains, waving the datapad.
no subject
"Ah," he says. "A rubbish-heap garrison. I might know the feeling."
no subject
"I'm sorry that you do," Ibani replies. "I thought the Guild was better than that, generally?"
"A commander dead in an accident that I have a feeling was no accident at all. And I didn't even know about his suspiciously high turnover of troops until the accident prompted me to dig through his paperwork more thoroughly." There's guilt there at that. They're HER people, and she's responsible for them, damn it!

"That can't have been an easy decision." For so many reasons, including both his past and his current 'secret' position.

"It's the best bad option I have," Garyn says. "Besides, it should keep my handler tied up for a while. Can't exactly pluck me away when I'm already serving the Emperor, can he?"
no subject
She smiles. "And you could be good for them, help make a foundation for them to stand on." She has faith in Garyn and his abilities, especially after seeing him deal with her own apprentices.
