*Meg waves an absent claw.* Oh, that was ages ago. But I couldn't talk, as a butterfly, which was a minor issue.

"...right."

Poor Alex. He should never meet Daine. It would break his head.

*It probably would. Good thing he died before that era of Tortallan history.

Meg gigggles.* Goodness, if you're freaked out now, what would you have thought about the centaur?

"I'm not exactly used to people changing shape, Meg."

Don't worry, you get very accustomed to it after a while, around here, *Meg says cheerfully.* And it's fun!

"...well, good. That it's fun, I mean."

He eyes her. "For some reason I keep getting an urge to pet you."

*Meg giggles.* You can if you want. It's acceptable for dragons. Might be a bit awkward if I was human.

He leans over and strokes her head gently, slightly disconcerted by the odd softness of the dragonhide.

*Meg giggles some more - it seems to be the dragon equivalent of purring, or maybe just the Meg equivalent - and blows a cheerful smoke ring.*

Alex smiles and keeps petting her.

"How long are you a dragon?"

'till I decide I don't want to be, anymore, *Meg says cheerfully.* I have a sign I'm supposed to make when I want to turn back.

"Well -- good. It might be fun being a dragon, but you don't want to get stuck as one."

Nope. *She grins, innocently and dragonishly.* Andrew might be a bit freaked, for one. And it's not really wedding gear, for another.

He blinks.

"Wedding gear?"

My aunt and uncle are getting married soon, *Meg explains, with a certain degree of pride.*

"Ah. They have my congratulations."

He blinks.

"Um. I'm assuming that one of them isn't actually your uncle or aunt in truth yet, though...?"

*Meg grins.* No, my aunt's only sort of honorary. Until the wedding, of course. I helped her pick her dress, *she adds, even more proudly.*

"Oh, good. For a moment there I was worried. About your aunt and uncle marrying, that is, not the dress. I'm sure it's beautiful."

*The dragon wrinkles her nose, and looks rather surprised to see a small puff of smoke emerge.*

No incest in my family, thankyouverymuch.

"Good. Keeping it in the family only works to a certain extent, and not when it comes to sex."

Can we change the subject? *Meg says plaintively.* It's hard enough to avoid mental squick when your father is the anthropomorphic personification of desire -

Alex blinks.

"Your father is Desire?"

*Meg blinks large dragon eyes back.* Oh, didn't I ever tell you that? Yes, that's sort of how hesheit got involved.

"...I see."

*Meg makes a face.*

I love my father, but every so often, hesheit just decides to meddle . . .
