David walks in, a large, leather-bound copy of Paradise Lost in his hands. He takes a look around, obviously hoping to see someone, before sighing tiredly and settling down by the couches to read.

Richard looks into his eyes and recognises some of the tone and voice inflection.

".....Loki? What...what happened? Did you and David trade bodies?"

David laughs and shakes his head.

"Nothing like that. Just a game. Did... I... tell you about 'Mark' the other day?"

"Oh, yes, David told me about that. Was that the face you showed me at Mardi Gras?"

He's still unsettled, but he's calmer now, and not shouting.

David nods.

"Yes."

He smiles.

"Why are you doing this?"

"Certainly not to harm him. Just to surprise him. A game, as I said. I'll not keep it a secret or anything."

He nods.

"All right. I'll play along for today then. Just don't hurt anyone."

David nods.

"I never try to hurt anyone, Richard. It's just that I work in vinegar and not honey."

He smiles up at Richard.

"Sit with me?"

He nods and sits down, but not as close as he would sit with the real David.

"How have you been? I don't think I've seen you since Mardi Gras."

He pouts mildly at Richard, having noticed the distance, before smiling warmly.

"Things have been as they are, Richard, and I'm rather pleased with them. I have someone who loves me, the bar is no longer upset with me..."

He smiles genuinely.

"Things are wonderful. And yourself?"

Cue sappy grin.

"Wonderful. Really. I've never been this happy in my life."

He laughs.

"My, we are a boring pair, all satisfied with our lots and such. Absolutely bothersome, no doubt, to the huddled masses of angst this place houses regularly."

He smiles.

"But I will admit it is a nice change."

"I'll take boring and happy any day of the week. I've had enough angst and excitement to last a lifetime."

He raises a hand.

"For several, thank you, but I suppose it's all part of me."

"Well, yes, you're a god. You'll have more lifetimes than me." He's quiet for a moment. "Sometimes it feels odd being the only mortal in the family. Well, besides Charlie and Claire."

"That doesn't make you any less special, Richard."

He looks out and into the bar and past it, to a house in Tokyo where a young girl is enjoying breakfast on his dime.

"A little mortal girl stopped Ragnarok, Richard. Her. Her wish. A few months ago."

He smiles at Richard, warm and a little sad.

"Never underestimate mortals, Richard."

"I like to think so occasionally, yes."

He smiles at Richard.

He grins.

"Tell me about Tokyo."

He laughs and smiles.

"Well, I've got one, two, three, four, five... six. Six different rooms with a claim on them, though only two that really get any use. 'Suti hasn't visited, I share my room with... well, yes, Eris never uses hers, and Echo sleeps with Yamino every night."

He smiles again.

"You know you and your vampire are welcome to a room there as well should you care to visit." And Danii is going to have to make a bloody community if Loki doesn't stop inviting people, you silly god.

He smiles.

"It gives Yamino more to cook and that makes him happy. Plus, I think that David misses you when he's at my home just as I miss my family while in New Orleans."

He nods. "All right, Should we use the closet door to cross over like David does?"

He nods.

"Certainly. That was the purpose tot he door in the first place, you know. So as to make it just a few steps away... to make the two homes one, in a way."

He smiles.
