[And Delia is in the bar, feeling mildly bored, but bearably so. Outfit of the night is a black turtlenecked jumper with an ankle-length velvet skirt that looks like snake-skin...]
[well, she's always been fond of symbols, really.]
[over to her normal booth, she draws her legs up and curls into the corner, reading 'The Collected Works of Oscar Wilde']
[every so often, there can be heard a faint giggle from her booth.]

Thank you for telling me.

"You're certainly welcome."
He sips on his drink.
"We were fine. Though he mentions you frequently. He misses you. He wanted me to meet you."
no subject
[she looks up again, with effort]
As I miss him. [she smiles, a little, tired smile, but still a smile]
You'll take care Alexi, Nick? [her light voice is serious, and somehow vulnerble. She doesn't know how to factor someone like Nick into her mental relationship-map, it's causing her some degree of worry...]
[Alanna was right when she said that Delia had never truly grown-up]

He sips his drink...and notices her eye on it.
"And yes, this is blood. It's the only food I have. And it is human."
He sips on it a moment before looking to her.
"And I am not. Humans don't live to be eight hundred."

You are a vampire. [she pauses, and her lips twitch] Like Charlie's ex-boyfriend.
no subject
"Something like that. The two types...aren't exactly the same. Think of it like...breeds of dogs. But yes...like David...though a good bit older."
no subject
What's it like?

[and her lips twitch]
[my, my, 'Lia, such a dirty mind...]
Ah. I guess it would be.

He nods. He looks absolutely angsty about the whole question.
"But such is life I suppose."
Perhaps, she might notice a little glimmer in his eyes. He's not as dumb as he pretends to be at times.
no subject
[but she plays the game enough not to call him out]
Is Alex alright?
no subject
"As well as he can be. I'm...I'm trying to help him fix things, but...it's slow. As are all things worth doing, I suppose. But...it's not as if I don't have the time."
He looks to her.
"He smiles. It's beautiful."
no subject
[then the smile fades, and she looks up]
I am glad, if you can make him smile...[her eyes narrow suddenly]
When you drink blood, what happens?
no subject
He blinks at her.

"Well, I suppose it does get a bit boring, but...a very nice lady by the name of Delirium gave me a gift: a cup which changes the taste of blood to...any number of things. I forgot it tonight."
He sips his dinner and leans back.
"Why do you ask?"

"You know...I have plenty of books...here and at home. I could, perhaps, lend you some if you're bored. Or offer you lessons. If I'm teaching Thom to paint..."
He grins.
no subject
Paint? Thom? Well, well...I am begining to think you can work miracles, Master Nick...
Books...books would be lovely.
no subject
"That I can do...especially since I'm taking a quick trip home to deal with some business and I can pick you up some things."
He points at her book.
"You like old Oscar, then? I think I might have one of his old notebooks, or I could pick up a few more of his writings at the shop for you, if you'd like. Anyone else?"
no subject
I do not know. Your world, and it's books...they are strange to me. I am reading Wilde, I have read Tolstoy...who do you think?
no subject
"I'll think of something, I'm sure."
no subject
[absently, she taps her fingers against her leg]
Can I be frank, Nick?
no subject
"Certainly. You extended me the right. I try to be fair."
no subject
I told Alex I would withhold judgement on you until I met you....[she shrugs] I don't suppose you could him that you have tenative approval? [she pauses, and then shrugs]
I've too many charming men to trust you at the moment, Nick...but, as you say, we are on the same side.
