Liam walks in, once again with Megan sitting on his shoulders.

It may be noted that he's watching where he walks, and he doesn't put Megan on the floor just yet.

Charlie winces and says, "Er. Uncle Charlie is very silly, Megs.

"Perhaps we should continue this discussion during naps."

Liam nods his agreement and changes the subject. "So I hear there's a party tonight for a certain couple..."

"I think it's mostly for Richard. He's more of the groom in this relationship. Though he will be the one wearing a skirt." He looks at Megan again and sighs helplessly. "Maybe I shouldn't talk around children at all."

Megan is blissfully absorbed in tickling Seth and hasn't been listening.

Liam chuckles. "I'll teach her about kilts later."

"Anyway, yes. Party tonight." He sighs and leans his head on his hand, watching Seth squeak at Megan. "Just drink and talk, Richard said. He's not one for being the center of attention, anyway. A rather sedate bachelor party, really."

"Drinking and talking aren't necessarily sedate", Liam answers with a wicked grin.

"Richard," Charlie says, arching an eyebrow. "Sweet bloke with the Scottish accent. I imagine we'll split some really good Scotch and tease him about the kilt."

"Well. Should be fun anyway. And there'll have to be embarrassing stories, of course, if anyone knows any."

"Oh, I've no doubt it'll be fun. Just sedate. Quiet fun."

"It'll make a change", Liam says, deadpan.

"Yes," Charlie agrees solemnly. "No explosions, no earthquakes, no little nibbling evil things, just some friends chatting with a good drink. Should be lovely."

"Sounds like it", Liam agrees, not quite managing to hold back a grin.

"One quiet night, Liam, is a very good thing. They're few and far between."

"Completely agreed." The grin turns into a quiet smile.

Charlie watches Megan sing to Seth and Seth burble back, and murmurs, "Though knowing Armand, he'll probably show up in a corset and heels and demonstrate the feather trick."

Liam chokes.

"If he does, he can explain it to Megan. Or possibly not..."

"Tell me you're not planning to bring Megs to a bachelor party, no matter how sedate it may be."

"Well, not to the actual party. I was thinking I'd leave her with Val or someone until I go home. But you know what Armand's like."

Charlie watches the children for a moment more, then starts chortling helplessly. "Oh, lord. Sedate. It's not going to be sedate at all. If Armand's there . . . oh, lord."

"Since when is the... um, bride, I guess... even allowed to be at the bachelor party?"

"Considering we're not even sure who the bride is, does any other aspect of tradition matter? Then there's the part where no one's actually performing the ceremony--apparently they're just going to speak their vows and then be married. Or something.

"I'm just going to enjoy the kilts. I'm very excited to see David in a kilt."

Liam snerks and says solemnly, "I just bet you are."

For no particular reason, glancing over at the children, he launches a tickle attack on Charlie. He's in a silly mood tonight, apparently.

Charlie screeches and tries to fend him off.

Liam is merciless.

And Megan has stopped singing to Seth and is staring at the pair of them like they're insane.

"Meggie--help me--" Charlie gasps, trying to squirm away from Liam's fingers. "Tell--your daddy--ack!--help!"
