When Robin realized that he was no longer in the hospital where they had gone to check on the mysterious cases of illnesses, he was conflicted whether he was glad to escape the gloom of the situation or irritated from being taken during such an important time. It was a good thing that the time spent here was relatively fast in comparison to the time flow of his world.

Deciding that he could take a break from the depressing situation and distrubing revelation that he had come from, Robin took a seat at one of the booths for a rest. He figured that once he felt more refreshed that he would return to the chaos waiting for him in the world he lived in. He even decided to try a milkshake because Kon seemed to insistent about it before.

So there Robin was, sitting in one of the corner booths, sipping his milkshake and gnawing on his straw.

Deadpool sees the kid. "Nice getup. Who're you supposed to be? The Christmas Kid or something?"

Looking up from his milkshake, Robin eyed the stranger suspiciously. I mean, it's Deadpool. Any sane person would be suspicious.

"No, I'm not the Christmas Kid. I'm Robin." It was better than some nicknames he had gotten, though.

He considers this. "Robin? ROBIN? What the hell kind of superhero name is THAT?" He pauses.

"Oh shit. You're a sidekick, aren't you?"

Robin could easily name several other superhero names that were much worse than Robin. Robin was actually a fairly good name, as far as he was concerned.

"Is that a problem?" Because being the sidekick to the world's greatest detective was a big deal.

"I dunno. Who are you a sidekick to? Big Bird?"

ooc: i'm not QUITE sure if Deadpool doesn't actually know all this already. i mean, he knows he's in a comic book, he's mentioned Kryptonite before, and apparently knows about an "old 60's superhero show" with a crazy themesong and BIFF BAM POW, but this is probably the best way to play it.

Robin made a mental note never to call Batman that. And to never tell Kon about that name, either, because he had a feeling that the boy would be tempted.

"Batman," he said simply. He wasn't sure if the man knew Batman or not, since he didn't recognize him as Robin.

"Bat-Man? So what's his gimmick? Going VEE BEE BEE BEE BEE and getting caught in your hair? I hate it when that happens. Or is it like baseball-bat? If so, Fenway's going to be pretty unhappy."

So, he evidently didn't know about Batman. Figured. He was probably from another universe.

"And who exactly are you to say such a thing?" Robin asked dryly.

"My name's pretty self-explanatory. Deadpool. Y'ever play a dead-pool, Junior Birdman? That's when you place bets on when people are gonna die." He grins behind the mask, and inexplicably, the mask grins with him.

"Here I thought that it meant a molding pool of water," Robin deadpanned. He knew all too well what a dead-pool was in his line of business, but he wasn't going to go there. Besides, it wasn't bad to get back at the man for his jab at him and Batman, was it?

"See, that's what you get for hanging out with a dude who themed himself after a sporting good."

"He did not. Batman named himself that because he works at night." Thus, after the animal bat. "And he's the world's greatest detective." And Robin was the world's second greatest detective. He had figured out the mystery of Batman and Robin, hadn't he?

"Bat-Man and... Robin? Robins don't fly at night. They sleep. What the hell kind of sidekick name is THAT? Shouldn't you be, I dunno, Owl-boy or maybe The Guano Kid?"

"World's greatest detective, huh? Here I thought that was Sherlock Holmes."

And up comes Krypto, who jumps up on the seat oppisite Robin and starts to sniff at his milkshake.

"Dude," Kon sighs as he follows. "Leave his food alone."

Blinking, Robin watched as the dog bounced up on the seat opposite of him and started to sniff in an interested manner at his milkshake. Why was Krypto here? But if he was, that would mean...

Yep, there he was.

"Do you feed him regularly, Kon? That might help," Robin joked as he watched Krypto and his milkshake.

"Dude, he eats way too much. If he keeps it up, I bet it's gonna have to come out of my allowance." And Kon doesn't get very much allowance at all, so that? Would just suck.

He pushes at the dog. "Move." Krypto growls, but complies; Kon sits in the now empty space.

"So how are things going out there?" Is the obvious first question.

He motioned Krypto over to his side of the booth, and when the dog was situated next to him, he proceeded to idly pet his head. It was a comforting action, even if he had never been too fond of animals.

"It's...not pretty," Robin confessed, remembering the unconscious people and the "confessions" they had all made about their father figures.

"How about you? Chasing Krypto around?"

"Not pretty? What happened?"

As for the query about him, Kon glares at Krypto in response. "Yeah, -unfortunately-. He decided that the best way to leave would be to break my fucking window."

Krypto does not look very sorry for this.

"Raven's...hatred of her father overtook us. We eventually shook out of it, but..." It wasn't something that he wanted to remember for long. It was bad enough that they had been overcome like that, but what they had said...

"And I'm sure Krypto had good reason to break your window." Krypto seemed to be a smart animal for the most part, after all. He scratched the dog's chin as he glanced down at him.

"I asked him if he wanted to go outside. And he did." Kon doesn't think there's much more to it. Although there really isn't room in his head to puzzle that out when he's still stuck on the Raven thing. "It... overtook you?"

"We...all said how we hated our parents. Or parent figure, in my case." He still couldn't believe that he had actually said that he hated Batman. It almost felt like he had betrayed him somehow.

"...well, it's not your fault, you know that, right?" Kon senses Tim's unease over it. "I mean, you said it was Raven's anger overtaking you... so..."

"It's...nothing. I'll get over it," Robin said with a shake of his head. And he would, for the sake of their mission to find Raven. It was a moment's slip, and he would know to be more careful next time.
