He nods at Thom, looking mildly displeased.

"Yes. He was upset and then Nick fed him and then we met my sister. It's been something of a whirlwind night."

He leans over to Alex and kisses him at the end of the nose.

"Alex?" he stares into Alex's eyes with red, "Put me away please. Nick would help more."

He blinks, and his eyes widen.

"Oh, fuck."

He pulls up his other leg, hugging his knees to his chest.

"Go away, please. I want Nick back."

And the posture changes, the lines different. It's a subtle difference, but present the second it's made. That was not Nick.

His arms are around Alex a moment later, pushing the legs down and clinging to him.

"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry!"

"Nick, I don't - I don't understand, he said I was the switch but I didn't call him, I swear I didn't call him--"

He almost cries as well.

"Distress, Alex. You were upset and you called through the blood and..."

He curls aruond Alex.

"It's not your fault. It's me. It's always always me."

"Stop it. Stop it, Nick, it's not anyone's fault, except maybe Simon, it's sure as hells not yours. I love you. Always you. Forever and always, remember?"

He nods.

"Okay. As long as...as you don't blame yourself either. Fair enough, no?"

He pulls Alex's chin up and kisses him, deep and slow and desperate.

*Thom staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaares.

Slow indeed.

Eventually, he coughs.*

Nick doesn't notice, holding Alex carefully and kissing him, moving his lips down, across Alex's jaw.

May I, Alex?

He nods, tilting his head to the side.

You know the answer to that...

But I'll never stop asking. It's my way.

And carefully, he places his lips against Alex's throat and allow his fangs to slip in, making sure not to bite too deeply. He just needs a sip to reassure.

He holds up his wrist, hand next to it, offering without words.

*Thom watches, expressionless.

After a minute he pulls up a chair, sits down, and conjures a sketchpad and stick of charcoal.

Sario will be so proud.*

Alex doesn't notice Thom. (Are we surprised?) He does notice Nick's offer and nods wordlessly.

And Nick takes one finger, rips open a small wound, and lifts it to Alex's mouth.

He sucks lightly on the offered finger, tongue lightly running over the wound.

He shudders...and finally pulls away.

"Sorry. I..."

He sighs before looking to Alex.

"This...this is new. I've never...I just felt like it was what I should do, Alex, but...can you feel it?"

"I can feel... something different... you? Is this like when you can tell if I'm upset?"

He leans into Nick.

"Love you. It feels... odd, but... right."

Nick nods.

"Yes."

And he can almost see the connection between them, almost taste it and feel it...almost touch it.

He nods. And leans into Alex.

And turns to Thom, with a slight wince.

"Sorry."

*blinks at him* Oh, were you rude? I didn't notice.

Nick twitches an eyebrow.

"Droll. Very."

*Thom crosses his legs, propping his chin up on the back of his hand.* I lived to serve.

"Obviously."

Nick turns away, to Alex, and looks at him carefully.

"Are you better?"

He nods, leaning against Nick.

"Yeah. Sorry I freaked. He just..."

Nick looks to Alex.

"It's okay. I know how disturbing He is."

A small, nervous laugh.

"I...He lives in my head. I'm...well aware."

He shakes his head.

"Not him. Simon."
