*Meg is ~~brooding~~ ~~sulking~~ sitting in the bar looking quite reasonable. With coffee.*

"Indeed. Particularly--er." Cuthbert Shuts Up. It's possible he looks a bit awkward.

*It is Meg's turn to eye now. Ha!*

Anthy isn't my family. Well. I mean sort of almost technically, but not by blood -

"As much as I'm curious but rather afraid of what I'll get if I ask about that fiancee thing...I wasn't going to mention Anthy."

Cuthbert's mouth is twitching a bit now, for all that he still looks awkward.

Fiancee thing was a technicality going back to when I duelled for her - she's engaged to whoever won the last duel, it's complicated, *Meg says absently, and then eyes him some more.*

Cuthbert is not starting to snicker. Not at all. "You're going to kick me or something if I tell you. But--think about who's in your family, who someone like our friend Manuel might enjoy meeting."

He continues to not snicker, and braces himself for Ballerina Wrath.

*Meg says: stare.*

Oh sacre Dieu please tell me you're not planning to set up my father with oh sacre Dieu en le ciel the mental images they won't go away -

For a few seconds, Cuthbert is laughing too hard to respond. Then, finally,

"Hey, I didn't say a word about helping them meet, just that it'd be interesting."

Bad enough, *Meg wails,* bad enough that people kept giving me images about my mother, you have to drag my father into this too -

Cuthbert is trying to stop laughing. Really, he is. His ribs hurt.

If you had met my mother, *Meg says darkly,* you wouldn't think that was so bloody funny. Ask Roland. Really not pretty pictures really so much with the no.

Cuthbert's managed to stop laughing by now. Mostly.

"I'll, ah, I'll take your word for it."

How would you like it, *Meg pursues,* if I started talking about your parents getting it on with scary guys in underwear that doesn't even fit well -
