Claire is by the fire. She is reading to Seth from Winnie-the-Pooh. Seth is pretending to focus on the moving pictures. Really though he's just trying to break his own record of five consecutive spit bubbles.

"That's a pretty name." Claire smiles at Kaylee. "I've been her for a few months now. I guess right at two. I live upstairs."

"Hiya, Hurley. An' my name ain't nothin' special. It's just a name."

She was an awful pretty lady. One of those fancy ladies. "D'you live with your husband, Claire? Is this him?"

"I'm not her husband, just a friend," Hurley quietly responded as he carefully looked her over. There was something very down to earth about her.

Claire smiles shyly. "I'm not married."

She nods at Hurley. "We were in a plane crash together and stuck on a deserted island before we came here."

"Oh." Well then. "That ain't too shiny then. Didya die?"

What? It's a very important question around here.

"I don't think we did," responded Hurley.

Claire laughs ruefully. "We didn't. My friend Charlie died for a few minutes not too long ago, so I think we're alive now."

At the mention of Charlie's death, Seth squeaks and scrunches up his face.

"Well that ain't so bad then. I mean it ain't..."

Foot in your mouth. Stop talking...well no, change the subject.

"D'you know Simon or River or Wash?"

"I haven't been in here much so I probably haven't had a chance to meet them," responded Hurley. "Where, and uh when are you from?" he asked uncomfortably. The last time he was here he met some dude from 2010.

Claire simply shakes her head no. Seth squeaks in reply.

"They're from my crew. I'm from Transport ship, Firefly class Serenity. Year 2518." She replies proudly. "It's the best ship out there."

"Cool," responded Hurley. "So you like live in outer space?"

Claire shifts Seth up onto her shoulder. "2518? Wow, we're from 2004."

"So you're from Earth then?" Her eyes light up.

"Uh, yeah," responded Hurley noticing the way her pretty eyes seemed to light up Are you from earth or some other planet?"

"Or which version of earth, if that's the answer." Claire smiles and rocks Seth gently.

"Ain't no Earth no more. It got used up. But Faith is gonna show it to us."

She looks quite excited about this prospect.

"How did it get used up? Who used it up?" Hurley nervously asked. He certainly hoped she wasn't from his version of earth, and that it's destruction didn't involve a certain set of numbers

"That's the saddest thing I've ever heard." Claire frowns. "

"The people livin' there. Been gone longer'n I been alive." She explains. "But we got the skies and we got the terraformed planets."

"That sucks," responded Hurley. "So I take it you like had to settle Mars?"

Claire lets Seth hold her finger which he clings to enthusiastically. He interrupts the Q&A with a steady stream of gurgles and squeaks.

"Mars? Ain't never heard of a planet like that." She says with a shake of her head. The baby's noises and holding of her finger makes her squee a little. She should tell Wash and Zoe to have a baby.

"Well, it was the next planet over from earth, and there were stories about it having all kinds of life, but as far as I knew they were just stories. I think scientists sent probes and stuff, but they never found any signs of intelligent life as far as I know," he looked at Claire wondering if she knew anything more. Science was never his thing. She was the one who was into astrology and might know more.

"Would you like to hold him?" She offers Kaylee with a smile.

"Mars wa sthe red planet." She offers with a shrug. She never paid much attention in school.
