Claire is by the fire. She is reading to Seth from Winnie-the-Pooh. Seth is pretending to focus on the moving pictures. Really though he's just trying to break his own record of five consecutive spit bubbles.

"Yeah. He beat me at backgammon. And he threw me in the lake. But I dunked him back, so it's fair." She smirks. "Seems like an alright bloke."

"Well, good." She grins. "I can't wait for it to get warmer again. I'd love to go swimming."

"That's right. You've got a picnic up your sleeve." She grins back. "I wonder if I can bribe a few magic users..." The grin turns positively wicked. "Well... there is one..."

"I doubt you'd have to bribe him much." She teases.

"It's not amount. It's quality of the bribe." Ace retorts, fighting valiently against the blush.

The blush always wins!

Claire giggles. "Poor Tim. He doesn't stand a chance, does he?"

"Not a one. Poor boyo. He thinks the nitro is the only explosive thing around." It may be a losing battle, but Ace is one who never says die!

...

She does say 'HEEEEEELP!' quite a bit though.

Seth giggles.

Oh wait, that might have been gas.

"You laughin' at me now, Seth? Sheesh, everyone's a critic..." She mock grouses, actually becoming brave enough to tickle a little foot while still having her arms full of fiddly baby.

The foot kicks in reflex and the baby squeaks again. Ticklish! that squeak definitely means.

He blows another spit bubble of love.

Claire grins. "I think he already has opinions. I know it's early but he reacts to things in a very timely manner."

"Oh, he's definitely a very opinionated little fellow. God help us all when he learns how to talk." She grins, and tickles his other foot. My, but Ace is a brave cookie.

Seth does a little wiggly dance as his other foot is tickled.

"Oh." Claire sighs dramatically. "He'll be bossing us all around I'm sure. He's going to be so spoiled."

"Yeeeagh.." Ace takes a tighter grip on the wiggly baby. Fiddly babies, the downfall of the mighty Ace.
"Yes. Spoiled. With the whole of the bar wrapped around those tiny fingers, how can you think otherwise?" she replies once she feels mostly confident that Seth isn't going to take a header.

"He knows so many people." She laughs. "More than me. You wouldn't believe how many people come up to me and ask if I'm Seth's mother."

"You think he's crawlin' away from you on the sly and partying the night away? Seth..." she looks down at the baby-ruler of the bar. "You're supposed to keep that sort of thing quiet. Didn't anyone teach you how to be a proper delinquent? It doesn't work if the parents catch on too quick."

In all seriousness, "You'll tell me if you see him dancing and boozing it up down here, won't you?"

"Errr..." She pauses, and leans down to stage-whisper in Seth's ear. "Sorry mate, your mum's gonna make me squeal. She's a hard one, eh?"

Seth waves a hand in the air and then grabs onto Ace's hair.

"Oh," Claire grins and reaches over to help untangle tiny fingers. "Looks like he wants to keep you."

Ace yelps when Seth snags her hair, but manages not to lose her grip on the wiggly baby. Go Ace.
"What can I say. I'm a slave to the spit-bubble." She snarks as Claire gets her hair free.

"Well, you know what they say," She grins. "We're all slaves to something."

And then Seth does something extraordinary. He blows six spit bubbles in a row. Just for Ace. His muse.

Should Tim be wary of Seth?

"Well, aren't you just the cleverest boyo in the bar?" Ace tickles his foot again, beaming. Why? Because she's holding an adorable ~~bar ruler~~ baby.

"He just broke his own record," She grins. "He's getting quite proffecient with those."

"Today, spitbubbles, tomorrow, the world." Ace replies cheerfully.

"And there's no limitations to which world he conquers." She grins.

"Good lord. He could conquer them all from here, couldn't he?" Ace sounds a bit awed. "But first, he's going to have to figure out a way to order people about via spitbubbles."
She sighs.
"As much fun as this is, Seth, I think I need dinner." Even Aces can't live on bread and cocoa alone. Especially now that she's become reacquainted with the idea of eating.
