*The air near a certain table shimmers, and Moiraine appears. She glances around, then starts toward the bar. As she does so, Holly runs up, chittering, and brings a cup of tea. The Aes Sedai smiles in appreciation, then settles down with tea and her journal.*

I suspect that it is a sign of your unusual luck.

As your luck may be a sign of other things.

"Ah... yes. But, we don't know about that yet. I did have a word with Lady Luck a few weeks ago, but she was understandably unwilling to reveal anything to me."

He sniffs.

"I dunno, domestic bliss is all well and good, but I just miss the thrill that only an adventure can yield. I've had a couple of offers for trips to other worlds since I discovered that I'm able to leave with other patrons despite my being bound from my own time."

Another shrug.

Peace is a valuable thing indeed, but not all are destined to have it in their lives. The Wheel weaves.

*Moiraine is thoughtful for a moment.*

Do you intend to take any of them up on their offers?

"We'll see. The most interesting one came from a new lady called Romana. She's a Time Lord and, as such, travels through space and time in a ship she calls a TARDIS. She asked me if I'd come along on a future trip. I think I might take her up on that offer."

I have not met her yet, I do not think, although the trip sounds fascinating.

*Moiraine is not familiar with technology overmuch, but after so long at Milliways she has some understanding of such things.*

He smiles. "I'll let you know how it goes. It could be just what I need."

He glances back to the bar and clears his throat.

"Do you remember Cole?" He nods to him discretely. "The man who caused a bit of a scene at the duel between Alex and Desire."

*Moiraine follows the glance, and her eyes narrow. Her tone turns slightly cool.*

Yes, I recall him; and his actions, and the feel of his power.

"Uh huh. Only to be expected... he's half-demon. But, he is also valiantly trying to rid himself of the evil it seems."

"He and Esk have not had much luck though."

*Moiraine does not look particularly pleased to hear this.*

He is a demon, or contains one within him?

"I believe he is, partially. And I remembered you helping Smeagol with his... problem. Though this is undoubtedly not the same."

"Still... I thought you'd be glad that he was trying to find a way to convert... exorcize... um... whatever. A step in the right direction at least."

It is not the same, but you are correct, I am pleased to hear that he apparently seeks to rid himself of the Shadow.

*She looks levelly at him.*

Are you asking for my aid on his behalf?

"Actually, no. He didn't ask, but I suggested that you might have some ideas. I wasn't sure if you would be prepared to actively aid his efforts however."

"So I told him I'd speak to you. It seems he is quite determined and would appreciate any help he can get."

*She considers him for a long moment, and then nods.*

Then I shall speak with him on the matter. If you see him before I do, Indy, you may tell him that I am interested in conversing with him soon.

*The Aes Sedai does not promise to help, but she does not indicate that she will not, either.*

Indy nods gratefully. "Thank you. I'll let him know."

"And now, I have something a little more pleasant for you."

His expression softens.

"Mike and I are hosting cocktail party in our suite on Sunday night. Informal drinks and hors d'oevres—if I get my way."

"We'd be very happy if you would like to drop by... and of course Lord Morpheus is also welcome, though I wasn't sure whether it was really his type of... thing."

*Moiraine blinks, and then smiles in genuine appreciation.*

I am pleased to be invited, Indy, and I should like very much to attend. I shall convey your invitation to my lord Morpheus as well, to be certain.

Which is your suite, and what attire would be appropriate for such an occasion in your world's culture?

"We're in Room 134." He chuckles. "I'm not sure how well you know Michaelangelo, but he is demanding all the women dress in something 'slinky'. And by that I think he means something seductive and sexy. Sadly, I think he's quite serious... pervert that he is."

He checks her expression.

"However, there is no real dress code as far as I'm concerned. And I'm paying the rent," he says with smug authority.

"So feel free to wear what you like. Some of the ladies are getting dressed up. Some aren't. This is out first attempt at hosting, so come prepared for the usual Milliways... possibilities."

He bites his lip. "There'll be some interesting drinks for consumption let's say. Eris made a donation, and Dionysus promised to drop by."

*She raises a single eyebrow at Mike's apparent preference, and looks calmly amused.*

I shall be sure to dress appropriately, then. *Notably, she does not describe what that is, and then Moiraine brightens.*

Dionysus will be there? I shall look forward to seeing him -- it has been some time since we have talked.

"Yeah... though it may be a fashionably late appearance. You know how these gods are... all about the image."

I know something of Dionysus, in any case.

*She seems quietly amused.*

He grins. "Well... I think that's everything. Um... bring a bottle if you'd prefer to drink something less potent than Olympian vintage apple brandy or Meg's absinthe. We'll have some stuff, but I'm not sure how long it will hold out."

He sighs in weary happiness. "I've been inviting people all week. It's tougher than you might think to track all your friends down at short notice. But I think I've got to most of them now."

"I'm exhausted," he admits.

I imagine so. *Her tone is calm, and Moiraine smiles tranquilly at him.* Planning such affairs can be very complicated.

I shall wish you a pleasant evening, then, Indy; go and rest, and I shall see you soon.

Light illumine and protect you.

"Thanks... um... light illumine."

He bows his head in a parting gesture. "See you Sunday."

With a final smile, the satisfied adventurer heads up to his room—sleep calling loudly.
