*The air near a certain table shimmers, and Moiraine appears. She glances around, then starts toward the bar. As she does so, Holly runs up, chittering, and brings a cup of tea. The Aes Sedai smiles in appreciation, then settles down with tea and her journal.*

"Different levels of the same Tower."

He smiles. "Say on if you would, sai."

Cuthbert meets her gaze and nods, his own expression turning curious. "Aye, lady. Roland's horn--passed down from Arthur Eld himself, or so the tales say."

He can still feel the curve of the horn against his palm at Jericho Hill--and the inexplicable relief he'd felt when he learned that Roland had the horn again, now.

It was regained by the time Alain heard it had been lost. He glances from one to the other, nodding in silent agreement with Cuthbert's words, and waits for Moiraine's response.

Cuthbert continues to look curious. Perhaps curious about why Moiraine's gaze hasn't left him as well as curious about the horn she speaks of.

"Roland's horn doesn't do anything so spectacular as that, I'm afraid. But this Horn of Valere, and this sounding you speak of--was its call answered?"

Cuthbert nods gravely. "From what I know of it--and I've carried it myself, in battle--the Horn O' Deschain doesn't have any special properties, can't summon anyone from beyond the grave or the like. And yet--I'd not call it just a normal horn, for whether it truly belonged to Arthur Eld or no, there's long history behind it, you ken?"

Alain listens silently, and thoughtfully.

He searches for words. "Roland knows more about this than I, sai... The Dark Tower is the center of things, the linch-pin. And all the many worlds are only levels on it, do you ken? All held together by it."
