Liam comes downstairs from Charlie's room and heads for the door. He doesn't anticipate being gone long, but has left a brief note for Charlie to explain, just in case time decides to do odd things again. He leaves quietly.

Some indeterminate amount of time later, the door opens again and he comes back in with a Megan clutching his hand. Liam's carrying a duffle bag, and Megan is towing a little suitcase along behind her with her free hand. They'll be staying for a little while.

"Moving in?"

He turns to smile at her.

"Nah. Just staying for a week or so."

She smiles at Liam and then at Megan.

"Oh. Well that's good too."

He reaches down to ruffle Megan's hair.

"Yeah. We've come to stay with Uncle Charlie, haven't we, Megs?"

She nods solemnly, and waves at Romana.

Aw.

"He must have a pretty big room."

Romana tips her hat and beams.

Liam grins.

"Big enough."

Romana smiles. "Oh good. Then you can have pillow fights."

To Megan. "How old are you?"

"Two!" Megan proclaims proudly.

Grins. "Excellent. I'm two hundred."

Megan's eyes widen, impressed.

To Megan with a big smile. "Still I remember being two was simply wonderful."

To Liam. "Is she allowed to have candy?"

"Just a little bit", Liam says with a smile.

"All right." Romana offers Megan three jelly babies.

She takes them eagerly and eats one.

"T'anks!"

"You're very welcome."

She smiles at Liam. "Well, I'll let you go catch up with your brother."

He smiles back.

"Thanks. I'll see you 'round, no doubt."

Megan waves as they depart downthread.

"Liam!" Charlie says in delight and puts the guitar down to swing Megan up in his arms.

Megan squeals.

Liam grins at him. "Hey again, little brother."

He kisses Megan's cheek loudly. "Hey. Come to stay for a bit?"

She nods eagerly. "Stay!"

"Yay! Are you going to sleep in my room, Megs?"

She glances at Liam then nods, beaming.

"Yay!" Charlie says again. "We'll get you your own little bed, how does that sound?"

"Yay!" she echoes.

Liam grins and says, "Don't be surprised if she ends up sleeping in yours half the time. She does that."

"Shouldn't be a problem," Charlie says, swinging her in his arms. "You and me and Daddy and Seth and Claire--does that sound like fun?"

"Yeah!" comes the enthusiastic response.

"Yeah," he echoes, beaming. "We'll go play with the baby when he's awake from his nap, 'kay?"

He says to Liam, "How's Karen doing?"

"She's fine", Liam says with a smile, and adds quietly, "Relieved that a certain someone's out of the way."

"Me too," Charlie murmurs and blows a raspberry on Megan's neck to make her giggle.

She does. Lots.

Charlie laughs and whispers in a conspiratorial tone, "Your daddy taught me that--you should try it sometime."

Liam glaaaares, but he's laughing.

"I know all your daddy's secrets," he goes on and waggles his eyebrows at Liam.

Megan giggles.

Liam raises a challenging eyebrow at him. "I know a good few secrets about Uncle Charlie, too."

"The blackmail material," he tells Megan solemnly, "is mind-boggling."

Liam snorts.

"Try it and I do the same."

"I am simply informing your daughter of further ways she can twist you around her little finger," Charlie says primly.

Liam raises an eyebrow.

"You don't seriously think she needs any further ways?"

"Couldn't hurt," Charlie says and waggles his eyebrows again.

Liam grins and reaches over to stroke Megan's hair, the grin softening to a fond smile.

"Trust me. She doesn't."

"Are you the queen of the world, Megan?"

Megan gives that question due consideration, then nods.

Charlie laughs and kisses her again, then puts her down on the floor. "C'mon, let's go put your things away and get you and Daddy some breakfast. Where's your bags?"

She points to somewhere near Liam's feet, where her little suitcase is sitting. Liam picks it up along with his duffle.

"Right-o, this way." He takes Megan's hand and leads them upstairs.
