Kim comes downstairs, she's still carrying Angels and Demons, but still isn't really in the mood to read it.


She sits at the Bar and orders a chicken salad sandwich.

"Me too. I briefly thought about becoming one but decided to stick with computers. Besides I didn't want to make my dad sick with worry. He had enough of that when my brother and I were in the service."

Sick with worry, like her dad that morning, grabbing her arms and telling her she couldn't go because otherwise and she feels herself about to cry remembering the terrified look on his face.

'That was right after he killed Ryan' she realizes now and suddenly has to get out of there.

"Um, I'm sorry, excuse me Chris," she apologizes badly and walks quickly to the stairs.

"Ok," she says weakly, wondering what she said wrong.

She would have to remember to mention this to her dad and ask him what was up with the Bauers. She knew he didn't care for gossiping but if she was going to keep upsetting them, Chris felt she deserved to know.
