*Bernard emerges from the Staff Wing and walks behind the Bar.

He doesn't even ask her for cigarettes, and so he's surprised when one lonesome Camel Light appears rather sheepishly on her gleaming surface next to a shot glass and a bottle of Hacienda del Cristero.

He grins.*

Thanks, baby. Think I'll save it up.

*He looks out over the barroom and calls out the specials.*

Welcome to Milliways Happy Hour.

Food specials are chicken casserole; spinach and ricotta quiche; and beefsteak with chips, onions rings and peas.

Drink specials are Magner's cider and Harp lager.

*He pours himself a shot.*

"Oh yes, if you would do that? You are actually behind the bar, wow!"

Asar-Suti looks askance at Bernard.

"Actually, I had an idea and have another question..." he then says, slowly.

Well, I've been busy with the construction.

"Yes - I hope I'm not getting on your nerves with my constant ideas," Asar-Suti says, shyer again.

"I like how the staff quarters turned out, too - from the moment Boromir started helping with hanging the kitchen cabinets, things have been falling rapidly into place." Asar-Suti is very convinced of Boromir's generally useful abilities.

"Erm - I was going to ask whether I might try some gardening outside now it's almost spring," he then says, looking at Bernard with apprehension. "And I thought..."

Asar-Suti looks quite shy of a sudden.

"I thought that in summer, people might like to sit outside? With tables and benches, or so? Carry their drinks outside? Some pubs and taverns have that, as far as I know. And the view is of course wonderful, with the lake and the hills."

Where Asar-Suti came from, there were real mountains, so the Scottish Highlands is 'hills' to him.

"So, I might do some gardening with a view to that, if that would be all right."

"Oh, do you?"

Asar-Suti looks quite relieved, and very enthusiastic.

"I'm very glad to hear that - it will be great fun, and when it gets warm out there, I hope it will be enjoyable to all that like to sit outside."

Who knows, in warm spring and summer nights, even the vampires might like it.

Don't overdo it, though. Most of the grounds are pretty enough on their own. Just a border here and there'll probably be quite enough to be getting on with.

"Oh, yes, definitely," Asar-Suti agrees. "The lake and the hills" - that word again - "are wonderful as they are. Borders and so on was what I was thinking of, perhaps a few herbs or so for Gil's kitchen. Herbs smell nice in the summer, too."

*He notices that there are a few patrons waiting to be served.*

If there's nothing else, I have to go.

Bernard probably did it for Tonks; well, Asar-Suti did what he did for Gil, secretly, really.
