OMG BARTENDING POST BLING BLING :O
*Bernard emerges from the Staff Wing and walks behind the Bar.
He doesn't even ask her for cigarettes, and so he's surprised when one lonesome Camel Light appears rather sheepishly on her gleaming surface next to a shot glass and a bottle of Hacienda del Cristero.
He grins.*
Thanks, baby. Think I'll save it up.
*He looks out over the barroom and calls out the specials.*
Welcome to Milliways Happy Hour.
Food specials are chicken casserole; spinach and ricotta quiche; and beefsteak with chips, onions rings and peas.
Drink specials are Magner's cider and Harp lager.
*He pours himself a shot.*
What'll you have?

You can say that again.
*He shakes her hand*
Bernard Wrangle. Head Barman. Welcome to Milliways.

Were you.
It just so happens that my Head Waitress and I were talking about hiring a few new servers on. I delegate the hiring of her team to her, so you might speak to her. Val Wiggin.

She sipped her drink again, and the paused asking, "So what's your crazy story? Since it seems like most people here have one."

*At the next, he laughs ruefully.*
...It's long.

Good evening, Bernard. How've you been?
no subject
Really, really good, Snow, thanks.
And you?
no subject
Oh, and I told Violet you were looking for a babysitter and pointed her in your direction.

This is the first time in a couple of weeks I've even had time to tend, to tell the truth.

It's gorgeous, if I do say so myself.
We'll have you over once we have any furniture to speak of.

There is that slightly shy small purple god again. Not quite as shy as the other times, though.

Hey, Asar-Suti. Buy you a drink?
no subject
Asar-Suti looks askance at Bernard.
"Actually, I had an idea and have another question..." he then says, slowly.
no subject
Well, I've been busy with the construction.
Do you?
no subject
"I like how the staff quarters turned out, too - from the moment Boromir started helping with hanging the kitchen cabinets, things have been falling rapidly into place." Asar-Suti is very convinced of Boromir's generally useful abilities.
"Erm - I was going to ask whether I might try some gardening outside now it's almost spring," he then says, looking at Bernard with apprehension. "And I thought..."
no subject
You thought...?
no subject
"I thought that in summer, people might like to sit outside? With tables and benches, or so? Carry their drinks outside? Some pubs and taverns have that, as far as I know. And the view is of course wonderful, with the lake and the hills."
Where Asar-Suti came from, there were real mountains, so the Scottish Highlands is 'hills' to him.
"So, I might do some gardening with a view to that, if that would be all right."
no subject
I think that's a great idea.
