The train was actually on time, for once, remarkably enough.
Despite that, they'd been waiting for the better part of an hour, Peter currently standing beside him with the four rings carefully kept wrapped up in the earth-stained bag at his feet.
All week, he had been almost nervous with anticipation. Something was going to happen, he knew that much, but what? He did not anticipate he'd be able to return, of course, nor would Lucy, but perhaps at least Eustace and Jill would manage it.
At the same time, in the back of his mind, he couldn't help but wonder why it was that the others thought it sensible to attempt to find their way back again with the rings. The Professor had told them of the adventure he'd had in his childhood, before the rings were buried in the first place, and it simply hadn't seemed right that they would so easily use the same route again. After all, the Wardrobe had not held the door after their return, either.
The train was on time, and in the back of his mind, beside his wonder and his worry, he knew that not only were Eustace, Jill, and Lucy on the train, but also the Professor, Aunt Polly, and his parents.
The train was on time, for once, but it's coming around the corner too quickly now and then there's nothing but a bright flash of light, as he throws up his hand in front of his eyes -
It doesn't hurt, though, which is a bit of a surprise. He lowers his arm, opens his eyes, and looks around.
This is not London.
This is not Narnia.
This place also does not match the description he'd heard of the Wood between the Worlds, although perhaps it's closer to that than to either of the others, although he does not yet know this.
Edmund Pevensie looks around Milliways, rather confused.

You're new, aren't you?

He blinks a bit in turn at the stranger.
"I suppose that would depend on who you ask, and where this is, really."
no subject
Milliways. Apparently, it's at the end of the universe, even though I thought I'd fixed that. But lots of people from all sorts of places come here.
*he holds out his hand*
I'm--
Full name on this one, Garion. He's important.
*You sure? He looks like he's from the dirt world.*
Just do what I told you.
*Okay.*
Belgarion, King of Riva, Lord of the West, Beloved of Aldur, Overlord of the Western Seas, the Child of Light.
*a small blush*
Garion. Please.
no subject
He looks rather dazed, although he knows that there are other worlds that have ended before. He didn't quite expect to find himself anywhere that might have matched such a description, however.
"I - "
He focuses on the other youth's outstretched hand, and memories spring into place as he reaches out to take it.
"Edmund Pevensie, Garion, and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. And there was a time and a place where I was King Edmund the Just of Narnia, Duke of Lantern Waste and Count of the Western March, and Knight of the Noble Order of the Table."
He manages a smile.
"Edmund. Please."

Ace blinks as suddenly there's a new bloke in the bar.
My, doesn't he look confused.

He looks at her, and still looks rather confused, and waves a little.

Good evening; I do not believe that I have seen you here before, have I?
no subject
"Good... evening, you say? Odd, that, I could have sworn the train was coming in midafternoon... no, my lady, wherever this place is, I have not been here before."
no subject
It is quite a different place, many find. It is ... an intersection, of sorts.
Be welcome, in any case. I am Moiraine.

It's a sort of look, really.
"Hello. Are you new?"
no subject
"A bit, yes. Rather confusing place, really."
And yet at least here there is a familiar accent.
"I say, are you from England?"
no subject
Beat, while he considers.
"I was, yes. Mostly I'm from here now, though."

"Hullo there, pretty one."
He smiles, offering a fingertip for her to sniff, and then pets her cheek, scritching the spot between her eyes a moment later.
"You're lovely, do you know that? You look rather a bit like my Sylvaine."
no subject
The calico sniffs at his fingers, then starts purring, only giving Svava a green-eyed glance.

"Hi," she says, smiling. "New to Milliways?"
