Erin, being a history geek, becomes fascinated by Norrington. She's seen quite a few people like him around the bar but has not had the opportunity to speak to one.
Never better. *Alanna finishes her water and leans against the bar.* You did not mention just how blue the water can be in the midday sun. I do believe I could see straight to the bottom once or twice. *She smirks.*
I did. *She examines her nails.* And not entirely of my own accord, but I quite enjoyed my stay. *Shrugging, she looks him in the eye.* Jack decided I needed a vacation. He was not entirely wrong.
*Alanna grins, relieved that the Commodore has yet to threaten Jack with the gallows. Again.* No, no complaint, save only that he did not take me to see Port Royal. However, I certainly understand why.
"Yes. Port Royal is not a place for a woman of any respectability. And I doubt Captain Sparrow alone could have protected you - you would have had difficulty protecting yourself, sword or no."
[OOC: Not a problem; I'll have to deal with the big "24" plot going down soon.]
Gillette isn't quite sure what to do. "I've run into Jack Sparrow," he says dryly. "He was a scoundrel, as usual, but we managed to be surprisingly civil to each other. He told me he's had similar encounters with you."
"Yes, well." Gillette frowns. "He wasn't any less irritating than usual. If he'd desist in asking such personal questions, I'd be inclined to tolerate him more."
"If you find you cannot tolerate him, Lieutenant, I can only suggest you avoid him while in this place. To avoid any temptation to break the rules, you understand."
"I never said I couldn't tolerate him," says Gillette defensively. "I only wish he'd stop asking me about sensitive matters. Even if I needn't answer, it's still unforgivably rude of him."
