She comes in through the lake door, dressed for riding and with her hair in a long braid down her back... and marsh violets woven into the braid.

As Susan Delgado goes to the bar, it's apparent that soon there will be hot chocolate, as well. Sometimes, it's the little things that bring contentment, say true.

He doesn't mind.

"He did." Pause. "When Jake was not well, Joe gave it to him. For protection. A sigul of protection, in his world, it seems."

Her hand on the medal stills, and she looks up at him.

"For protection." A soft, sad smile. "Aye, well-- then I'll hope that it may work well for thee, say true."

"And I say thankya."

His voice is gentle. His expression is stony.

Everyone is leaving. Eddie. Jake. Cuthbert and Susan, too, in their way. Joe is gone. And the Lady Death...well.

They are not an-tet here, but they are still one from many, and Susan Delgado has ever been able to tell some things about Roland. She looks uncertainly at his stony expression, and lets her hand fall away.

Roland turns away, quietly asks for a cup of coffee, and drinks.

She doesn't know what to say -- so she says nothing, for long moments, sitting still beside him.
