After wandering around outside for a bit, Kim's back in the bar and eating french fries.

The bar's mood has improved a lot over the last day or so and she's kind of wondering why.

"Yeah, well, neither do I, but that didn't stop them from blasting a megaphone in my ear and signing me up." He sighs. He decides not to mention that he very narrowly escaped having to breakdance. "I'm doing the technical stuff. Want to help, or are you just going to stay away from the whole thing like all the other people with sense?"

"Technical stuff? Sure, if they need help."

"I don't know how much help is really going to be needed. They don't seem like they've planned much of it out yet."

"I think you got roped into it because they need someone to lift heavy objects," she smiles at him.

"Well, I kind of volunteered to do the backstage stuff because it was either that or perform." He shrugs, with a slight smile.

"Hey, did you ever watch the Magic School Bus cartoons when you were little?"

"I didn't know you had any circus skills," Kim tilts her head.

"Um, I think Meghan might have watched them."

"I don't. They were trying to get me to breakdance."

He shakes his head. "Anyway, I was just asking because I actually ran into one of the characters. The really perky teacher. It was...kind of an experience."

[OOC: Going to be AFK for a little while, but I'll be back.]

She giggles at that image, "I thought that was an 80s thing."

"Did you go on a field trip?"

[ooc: Okay!]

[OOC: Back. :)]

"It's, you know, a rediscovered art." He shrugs. "It's not hard if you practice it. It's like gymnastics.

"And no, I didn't go on a field trip. Very funny." He steals a french fry.

"A rediscovered art...is there some part of your teenage years you wanna tell me, Chase?"

Kim eats another fry, "No? But if I remember correctly they went to pretty cool places."

[ooc: Welcome back! Btw, Hitchhiker's was awesome -- and is Chase gonna be recruited to help Dina?]

[OOC: Aaaah, I really want to see it, but I want to read the book first, so don't tell me anything. :) I'm debating about Chase getting recruited. I'd like to have him in on the action, but if Jack ends up getting hurt because of him, I don't think I'll have time to write all the massive breakage and angst that would follow. But I'm leaning towards 'yes.']

"If you really want a demonstration, I might be persuaded to give you one in private. I'm pretty good at it. I mean, if I do say so myself."

He shrugs. "Well, it's not like I can get out of the bar to go anywhere on the magic school bus. So I just talked to the teacher for a while."

[ooc: although, if someone planted some false information in Chase's mind to turn him against Jack, possibly...but, I'm not sure Kim would forgive him (unless she's not there, as per my unbinding idea)]

Kim grins, "Well, you do have excellent muscle control,"

"Oh you have to be unbound to go anywhere? That kind of sucks."

[OOC: Argh. I don't knooooooow. On the one hand, it would fit in with the plot and make for such complicated plotty angst. On the other...I don't want to have Chase get tricked into turning against Jack. I'd rather have him stay Jack's ally, and not have everyone be pissed at him. But I don't think that works with the plot, so I'm conflicted.]

"Yes, I do." His smile grows slightly mischievous.

"Well, I don't know. I can't see the bar letting me take a field trip. But Ms. Frizzle always kind of scared me anyway, so it's all good."

[ooc: It would be very complicated plotty angst, especially since I think that well, you read my post on 24_ways so Kim might not be around for a few days/week...and then Chris and Chase working together, heh.]

Kim moves closer to him and slides her hand up his arm, "I'm always up for a demonstration,"

She nods, "First tutus and now cartoon teachers...it's a good thing terrorists never figured out your weaknesses."

[OOC: Aaaargh. I don't think I want complicated plotty angst. Maybe I'll ask if Chase can somehow avoid getting manipulated/turned against Jack. He's had a little too much of that lately. I'd rather he be on Jack's side this time, if it's at all possible, but if not, I'll work with what they've planned.]

Chase would make some snarky comment in response to that last part, but he's distracted by the first. "Yeah? Well, when do you want to schedule the demonstration?" He grins. "Say, my room, in ten minutes?"

[ooc: Oh, no problem, just thought you might want in :) Poor Chase...]

"That sounds good," she says and leans up to whisper in his ear, "Maybe you'll get me to wear the tutu."

[OOC: Well, I'll see what I can do, but thanks. :) Shall we RP the 'demonstration' tomorrow? Because if we start it now we'll just have to slowtime, since I have to go in about five minutes.]

Oh god.

"I'll meet you there," he gasps, and bolts up the stairs.

I knew some good might come out of wearing this thing.

[OOC: Hee, okay, that sounds good - set up the thread in his room tomorrow. I just love these two way too much]

She bites her lip and smiles at his enthusiasm and a few minutes later follows him up the stairs.
