The Forsaken Throwdown

Rhalen walks to a large open area by the lake.

Asmodean is there waiting for him wearing a suit of black armor.

Neither of them look happy.

[OOC: Please see backroom for details, but this is by no means, closed. Come watch the show.]

Asmodean is breathing, but raggedly, and blood is trickling out of the corner of his mouth.

He bears no resemblance to conscious.

Though it's not easy or comfortable for him, House kneels down on his left knee, keeping his right leg straight and avoiding putting his weight on it. He balances himself carefully, keeping both hands free to examine Asmodean.

The pulse is weak, but steady. He's breathing, evidenced by a slight rise and fall of his chest.

He puts his hands on the man. eyes closed, trying to visualise internally. Doesn't look good.

His legs are a concern, too. The way they're bent...House doesn't need an X-ray to tell they're broken. And badly. He needs something to splint them, to straighten and keep them still, and looks around for sometihng he might use.

Tree branches? Maybe his best bet. The problem would be getting up to get them. And what to use to hold them in place?

Ryan hurried over to the other man by Asmodean. His mind was still reeling from what he had seen but he'd have time to process that later.

"Do you need any help?"

"Yes. His legs are broken. I need...Do you think Bar would give us something to stablise him? Otherwise tree branches will have to do." He's determined he'd have to rip his shirt for the ties to hold the branches in place. Whatever it takes.

It doesn't register that he doesn't know this guy. Doesn't matter. Right now, his priority is the man in front of him.

"It might. But I don't know," Ryan confesses, "I've never had to ask for any serious medical equipment."

"It's your call."

"Branches. Get me at least four. Thick. Sturdy. I can always try to get sometihng more solid later if needed." House nods. The position he's in is killing his leg, but he's thankful for the help. He'd have even more problems if he tried to do everything himself.

Ryan nods and heads towards the forest to gather the branches. He wastes no time getting four large branches and clearing them of smaller branches and leaves.

He wishes he listened to Elaine and carried a knife with him. He's not worried about the animals but that knife would come in handy right now, he thinks.

Ryan hurries back towards Asmodean and the other man, branches in tow. He hopes he remembers enough of his first aid training to be useful.

"Here," he says and kneels to set the branches on the ground.

"These are good." House nods approvingly. He quickly tears off strips from his shirt to use to secure the branches, asking Ryan to hold them steady. He works quickly, and it's a crude job, but it's effective for his purpose.

"Think you can carry him inside?" House uses his cane to pull himself up. It's not pain, exactly, but a strong ache settled in his leg. "And thank you for your help. I don't know what I would have done..."

"Yeah," Ryan answers. He briefly worries about any possible spinal injuries but he assumes that this man and the young man took care of the most serious injuries.

"And no problem, I think you and the kid did most of the work."

It's a little clumsy, and his back will be sore later, but Ryan hoists Asmodean over his shoulders in a fireman carry. He gets to his feet carefully and heads into the bar.
