Rhalen walks to a large open area by the lake.
Asmodean is there waiting for him wearing a suit of black armor.
Neither of them look happy.

"...You lied to me."
The Combat Thread
"Listen to me, Joar! It doesn't have to be like this. I can help you!"
Re: The Combat Thread
"Is that what you told her?"
He paused.
"You have always been a liar!"
Re: The Combat Thread
"...I have no idea what you are talking about."
The Combat Thread
"More lies! I know the truth now. The truth that you have hidden. I never should have protected you."
He paused.
"Have you been having fun here?"
The Combat Thread
"Joar! Stop this madness! You are my friend for Light's sake!"
The Combat Thread
"You were never my friend..."
The Combat Thread
"How can you say that?!"
He his hand out.
"After all that we went through, and all that we did together."
The Combat Thread
"Don't act shocked. You've been using all of us."
He paused.
"I was just too blind to see it."
The Combat Thread
"...Joar. You've lost it."
He paused.
"I had heard from people about you, but... You've finally lost it."
The Combat Thread
"...And torturing a little girl makes you any better?"
He clenched his fist.
"I am giving you this one chance. Leave now."
The Combat Thread
"I can't do that, Joar."
He paused.
"There are people here that I have to protect."
His eyes fill with Saidin.

With a flick of his wrist, Rhalen knocks the spear flying, and then thrusts his hand forward, firing a massive bolt of lightning that had been hidden the the elaborate counter-weave.

Flying backwards, the bard skips once and then slides to a stop in the dirt.

"This is madness, Joar. Stop this right now!"

"Did I miss anything interesting?" She has no clue what's going on, other than that disturbingly depressing bard git is in a fight, which is enough for her.

Git one and git two are fighting for god knows why.

As she walks closer to the lake, she spots Rhalen and another man. Fighting.
Oh, dear.
She has a mind to rush forward and ask what was going on--but far be it from her to get in the middle of a confrontation that appeared to be far over her head, physically.

He moves closer, as close as he can so he can make out what they are saying, but not close enough to get hurt.
Ryan watches the fight intently and makes mental notes of what they say to each other. He hopes something in this fight will provide the answers he's been looking for.

He used his cane to kick the door open and hobbled outside. The air felt different out there, and he inhaled deeply. A gaggle of people seemed to be gathering off to one side. He tried to turn the other way, but curiosity got the best of him and he wandered toward the crowd.
Hwe was shocked, to say the least, when he saw two familiar figures fighting. Duelling, it seemed. Jasin Natael and Rhalen. He knew friends often argued, but this look like all out war.
House kept a safe distance from the action, but could not tear his attention from the fight.

She can see what will happen. The two squaring off. The fight is about to break out. (http://www.livejournal.com/community/milliways_bar/5199183.html?thread=213947471#t213947471) And in the distance, a siren begins to wail.
And Saidin is called. The evil is present. (http://www.livejournal.com/community/milliways_bar/5199183.html?thread=213948495#t213948495) The siren grows.
The fight begins. Evil magics are cast. (http://www.livejournal.com/community/milliways_bar/5199183.html?thread=213960783#t213960783) The siren becomes audible, and a buzzing enters Heather's mind. She presses her hands to her ears to block the sound, but is helpless to stop it.
A bird in the air, and the battle-tide turns. The liar takes the lead. The buzzing in Heather's mind intensifies, and she begins to see the world turn. The grass dies. The windows darken. The walls rust.
And the magic strengthens. The liar draws a new source. (http://www.livejournal.com/community/milliways_bar/5199183.html?thread=213992271#t213992271) And now there is no turning back. The world overwhelms her, and she collapses, screaming. There is no quarter.
