*Meg's in the bar, sitting at a counter, with coffee, scowling down at a notepad.

There's not much written on it. Inspiration is just not coming today.*

[OOC: Meg and Tony meet again, after a long time, and discuss topics ranging from the relative weirdness of bar patrons to the right words for relationships to the likelihood of getting murdalized in the 24verse; Meg learns about Kitty and Edmund's custodianship of her wee cousin Derry; the Phantom is sinisterly sinister, and Meg is unwisely dismissive; Claire and Meg plan their next line of attack on the Photographers of Doom, and discuss Milliweddings; Meg commiserates with Faith on the wedding of Dooom, with fairly cracky predictions for the future; Val is pregnant and depressed and Not Caring, and Meg tries to talk her out of it.]

Everybody and their Aunt Jemima seems to have a notepad in this bar. And Tony had only gotten a journal. Go figure. "Those things are really popular in here," he says to Meg.

*Meg looks up, and blinks.* Well, yeah, I guess so - we do have a sort of high literacy rate. Comparatively, I mean.

"Compared to most bars, yeah, but then this isn't your average bar."

Of course, certain individuals object to in-bar literacy, but Tony hasn't seen that certain individual in a while.

"Do you keep that as a writing journal or are you taking down notes?"

That's an understatement if I ever heard one, *Meg says, with a grin, and then sighs.* I'm trying to choreograph - I thought it'd be a good distraction, but it's just not coming today.

Kitty is singing.

This is unusual.

But she's quietly singing Free as a Bird, to a child with one blue eye and one green, both wide, and this is REALLY unusual.

Meg might notice.

*Meg does, in fact, notice, and turns around -

and blinks.*

- I'm not so good at distinguishing babies, in general, but - isn't that my cousin?

Kitty looks up at her and smiles, wryly. "Um. Yeah."

Er.

*Meg looks rather warily from Kitty, to the baby, and back.*

I've heard my aunt's had some stuff going on - but, er, is there a particular reason you're hanging onto her?

And on the bar appears a white rose. It has no card, and is not defaced or... altered in the way that some recent ones have been.

It look very much like it has only just been put there in a hurry, as if the donor had only just seen her...

*Meg looks at the rose.

And groans aloud.*

It came from the rafters near the door.

- literally. It'll probably leave a bruise.*

What, *she demands,* the bloody inferne do you actually want?

"Hi, Meg," Claire smiles from a few seats down. "How are you today?"

*Meg looks up, and waves cheerfully back.* Hey, Claire! I'm good - how're you?

*Meg leans a little closer, lowering her voice.*

Well, Sawyer gave me a tip-off, and it seems plausible. Still need to investigate it, though.

Faith has a book.

It is slammed onto the counter with some force, and then Faith is sitting next to Meg with coffee of her own, scowling at the book.

"Stupid Oscar. Woulda been better if it was about 'Sesame Street.'"

*Meg blinkas, and squints at the book.*

"Oh, don't worry about it," Faith says. "Just something a friend gave me to read. I don't like it. Anyway. How're you?"

*Meg makes a face.* Wanted to apologize for the whole mess that happened with the wedding -

And there's a Val. At a table now, reading a book and obviously trying to look relaxed. She actually looks more frustrated than anything else.

*Meg notices her, after a while, and cocks her head.*

- Val? You okay?

"Oh, perfectly fine. And perfectly relaxed if anyone asks." She smiles over the top of the book, obviously trying to seem much more innocent and calm than she feels.

*Meg eyes her.*

When you feel the need to say that? That's probably a sign that you aren't.
