Connor likes to be well prepared. That's why he's been sleeping later since the bar has started grabbing him: as much as he likes to enjoy the early morning dew, he feels he needs to sacrifice a few minutes of it. If this place is going to keep interrupting his sleep, then he needs to prepare for this.

It's been working pretty well, but he hasn't been snatched by the bar again. At least not until today. And when he walks into it rather than his bedroom (for a third time), he can't help but grin a little.

He wonders what interesting things he'll see today...

He was an artist, after all. That's what he did for a living.

"Well, still doesn't change the fact that women are attracted to you. The whole sensitive man thing, I guess," Kyle joked.

"It's just too bad I can't offer them anything in return." Not because Connor was or wasn't gay, but merely because he wasn't going to make a move on anybody he didn't have feelings for.

"They still have eye candy," Kyle said with a shrug. Kyle himself didn't mind flirting with people; he just wasn't going to have a one night stand.

Connor raises an eyebrow. "I don't think I exactly qualify for that, Kyle."

"What planet are you living on, huh? Planet Oblivion?" Kyle asked with a tsk and a raised brow.

"...care to enlighten me?" Connor asks, having a distinct feeling that he'll regret it.

"Women are attracted to you. You should know this by now. Hell, when we went on that trip to see my so-called 'father' who ended up being my uncle, that bodyguard chick was all over you. Not to mention that diner. That girl was checking you out." That was, before Kyle put on a demonstration and had gotten them kicked out for starting a fight.

Yes, Connor remembers, all too well in fact. "Two cases," He protests, even though he knows full well there were others.

"Do you really want me to list all the instances? Because we'll be here for a while."

When Kyle and Connor hung out together, they attracted attention. They were both good-looking, after all.

Connor rolls his eyes. "I suppose I have to give in, if only to save you from boredom."

"Damn right you have to give in. It's about time," Kyle announced with a wide, impish grin. "Admit it. You're eye candy."

Connor just can't resist the chance to tease him a little. "You know, someone who didn't know better might wonder about the fact you're so insistent on that."

"What?" Kyle said innocently. "I'm an artist. It's my duty to appreciate beauty and spread it to the rest of the world."

"Is that so?" Connor raises an eyebrow. "Then when you're hitting on all those women, that's just being an artist?"

"I don't actually do anything, do I?" Kyle said, raising his hands in the air as if to proclaim his innocence.

"I would think flirting -is- something." But Connor has different perceptions than most people.

"There's no harm in flirting, you know, as long as it stays just that," Kyle replied. "It's a type of social interaction."

"It inspires interest in other types of interaction." And if you can't offer that, then it was unfair to do it, wasn't it?

"Not always. I mean, if you flirt with a stranger, they're obviously not going to really think much of it. Unless they're some kind of deranged stalker type person." Which he was going to try to avoid. Yep.

"But why flirt with a stranger? You don't even know them." Connor has the feeling he's never going to understand any of this.

"It's just a way to be friendly. Plus, it's a type of compliment." Saying that you were attractive, you know? Or at least interesting.
